The sides had a funny volume that almost looked like equestrian pants but not in a good way. I still see them in my closet because I didn't return them, and the color is perfect for my brown/white blazer, and I still plan to have them altered. Definitely when I practice saying, "Next!" </p> <p>NYDJ do not work for me at all -- the rises are always ridiculously long on my body. And I sympathize with the short lengths. I would rather have them longer in the rise than shorter...if you have a Costco nearby I just went back and got a 2nd pair of the Andrew Marc Ponte pants in charcoal (1st pair are black) They are absolutely great! I'm 5'9 with a 34 inch inseam and these fit slim with just the right length. These <u>really</u> are NICE pants. Great color!! &nbsp;The midnight is lovely. &nbsp;Well made. &nbsp;I don't think you could beat these for the price. &nbsp;</p> <p>One last thing, I have a personal prejudice against cropped pants <u>on me</u>.
