They don’t need to be an exact colour match. Tonal can be fabulous - and better. The items look great!

That point about the mic is one I would not have come up with, nor insulin injections.

Do you have to order WHBM, or is there a store near you? If it’s just different dye lots, you could go search for pieces that really match. But the different fabric contents make it sound like it’s not that easy.

Good luck!

I do like the deep sea colour, and the cowl neck. How silly that they don’t absolutely match. As you say, best to move on to other options.

Joy, thank you. I hadn't thought of the medical aspect, but can see how that would be very helpful.

FashIntern, Joy covers a lot of the reasons I'm looking: fits a travel wardrobe, gives the "dress" option as an alternative, and gives some flexibility on sizing.

I'd also add that I'm speaking at many events and find that most conferences want you to use a lavalier mic. Great if you are wearing something with a waistband, or a belt (which I don't love). But if you are wearing a dress, which is my preferred look when presenting there are only 2 options for the AV people:
- attach the battery pack to your collar, which creates an awkward weight
- unzip and attach to your bra band, which works but the techs are uncomfortable.

So - looking for the skirt/top solution.

I also love separates that can work as a dress. They are easier to fit when the top is not the same size as the bottom, perfect for mixing in a travel capsule, especially when you will need a "dress" for an event or just a nice dinner outfit, and make mealtime insulin shots easier to give and less exposing if a restroom is not available. Blacks seem the easiest to match, or a popular shade of the season.

Why separates and not simply a dress? You could change the look of a dress by wearing blazers and tops over it.

I'm on the hunt for separates that can work together as a "dress" for conference season. Saw that WHBM had a new Deep Sea color, and decided to try.

So close, but the color match wasn't there. The top is poly/spandex, and the skirt is cotton/poly/spandex. I wonder if the different fabrication would have that much impact? They looked like a different dye lot.

I liked both pieces individually, but really need them to work together to make the wardrobe. Next!
