Laura G - love those old school keds!

BC - I think the Taos would also work with regular width feet. The toe box is actually roomier than the Ecco's. Not sure how they would work with wide feet.

Debbie - Hi! your burgundy shoes sound beautiful. The top is a slub cotton tee from Talbot's with a fringe hem and neckline.

Very nice to see you posting, Deb!
I have a pair of Taos that I wear happily in the fall. They are burgundy with a black toe cap. They have very good arch support. I love your casual look; the frayed hem on your top is casually appealing! As always, you have the best balance on tub edges.

I don't have low volume feet, so I can't wear anything like that, but I'm glad you found something that works for you. I agree that arch support is a must.

So I wonder if my arches have gotten higher as I've aged or it just feels that way. Just bought a lot of new shoes, and my feet pronate in just about all of them, even the ones with arch support. If I didn't already have two new pairs of sneakers, I'd be ordering these.

Though I have to say I'll happily buy orthotics to wear my new old-school Keds. They look just like the ones I wore in the sixties!

Thanks, Angie! Didn't dress up for the photo, lol! Just snapped a pic with what I had on at the moment. :)

Laurie -Hi!!! I owe you an email! Chat soon!

Joy and Maureen - I think I have the same pair of Ecco sneakers as Joy, although mine are black and not metallic. Can't believe I forgot to mention these! Thanks, Joy. I took them on a trip to Quebec City and did a ton of walking in them. They're lightweight and easy to pack. I have narrow heels and low volume feet and they fit surprisingly well. They have elastic ties with a toggle that can be cinched in. A nice summer sneaker. Definitely worth a try. Comparing the two, I'd say the Taos have the best arch support. The Ecco's have good arch support and were the more comfortable of the two right out of the box. I'll attach the find below. Hope this helps!

Debora - I have a pair of slip on fitflops sneakers that are very comfortable but after awhile, walking around running errands, my hips start hurting - I'm not sure what that's about. I still wear them but not when I'm going to do a ton of walking.

Joy - I haven't tried ECCO because I have a narrow as well as low volume foot and their shoes are too wide - but maybe in a sneaker with laces I might be okay. I will check them out.

Maureen, have you tried ECCO sneakers? Worn with disappearing or low Smartwool socks, they work for my lowish volume feet. I have another requirement for sneakers, especially for travel. They must be as light weight as possible. Most are just too heavy, both for luggage and to wear all day.

Delurked, Rachy and Style Fan - thanks!

Maureen, happy to hear of your upcoming trip! I haven't worn them yet for a full day of walking, but the reviews sound encouraging. Several reviewers said they wore them for sightseeing. The support is definitely on the firmer side. A friend has also recommended Fitflop sneakers. She said a friend of hers wore them all over Italy. Not sure how these work with low volume feet though.
https://www.barkingdogshoes.co.....rknit.html

Hi ladies,
I was looking for a pair of canvas sneakers to wear with my BF jeans and came across these Taos Star sneakers. They're super comfortable with great arch support. Canvas and low profile. They fit my low volume feet well. I had to give up my old Converse a few years ago due to lack of arch support, and I know several of you have had the same problem.

I bought mine in washed khaki and sized up per the reviews. They come in a wide variety of colors and prints. Excellent reviews. Here's the link:

http://www.zappos.com/p/taos-f.....lor/375630

Lots of great sneaker options out there right now!
