Lol Mauvish, those are great. Thanks for fantasy shopping for me, I will fantasy buy them Seriously though I really like looking at things out of my price range because I feel I can learn a lot about design and what aspects I want to find in a more affordable shoe.

Isabel - good point, I tend to like more stylized and simple clothes because they are easy to style in multiple ways without extraneous design details.

Heh Runs With Scissors, it's a quandry. How do you find the sizing on Tiger Serranos? I tried on my usual size and it seemed a little tight and short, but a half size up was a lot longer in the toes, a good 1/2 inch beyond my toe tips.

Shevia - I'm still keeping an eye out for more shoe-like options, like you say, but might try the RWS pumas.

Suz - I think someone answered your call and bought those sandals. Ooh I do like those New Balance and Puma Eskiva you collected though. Thanks!

Or, a few more options - one an espadrille instead of a sneaker.

The two that seem to have the vibe are the Puma high tops you posted and the Puma men's sneakers RWS posted. I agree with Rachy that the key to your Diesel's is they are shoe like and with everyone that they are just perfect with both your outfits.

Rabbit -- the JackRabbit site does have that Onitsuka Tiger in my size! And at a nice price too! I am sorely tempted, but I don't need more brightly colored sneakers. (I will keep repeating this to myself, for my brain knows it is true...)

Of your posted choices I like the Adidas Original Superstars and the Charles Davids because even though they're both pretty classic the simplicity and slightly bolder details make them look a little more stylized than the others.
Still classic sneakers, but distilled to their essence.

Omg rabbit! I think k have found a perfect pair for you. As you wanted high contrast and can from dressy to casual.

....they still have one problem. They are still expensive. And I have never heard of this brand .
But look... How amazing are they ...
Ahh... So much fun fake shopping for others, when "my" money is not involved --

marble - yes I like the classic ones. I tried on the all white Adidas too, but they really looked like nurse shoes with my white jeans.

Deborah - I was thinking about the ankle boot similarity of the white wrestling shoes, but I also have a white ankle boot with black trim on it now, so might be too much of a duplication. I like your two pairs. I have a pair very similar to the first pair - black velcro strap wedges with a white sole, and sometimes they are just the thing.

chouette22 - thanks I'll hold onto my old ones until the best replacement comes along, yes also I tried on white Stan Smiths and they were a little too nurse/gym for me.

Xtabay - I'm just starting to wear crops, and do have white ankle booties with some black on them, so thinking about it the high-tops might duplicate too much.

Thanks Tanya - yeah I'm thinking colored shoes will end up boxing me in far too much.

Runs With Scissors - I saw that bluebell Tiger here: https://www.jackrabbit.com/wom.....-5501.html It looks like they still have several sizes (if their site is up to date). You are right though, they'd kind of be an additional shoe with limited pairing options rather than a black and white replacement. I really like your Saucony's, not what I'm looking for right now, but great pattern!

kkards -- ah, designing my own, that would be fun to experiment with...

Janet - your Genials are lovely. I agree that I should not jump until I really find the right replacement.

smittie - good point. I do have black and white oxfords that can swap out in some outfits, but they are a little more delicate and refined, not walk in the park shoes.

Thanks Angie - that SF one with the mesh section you linked is intriguing.

Runs with Scissors - I might see if I can try on that Puma. It's apparently navy and white, not black and white, but I wear a whole lot of navy...

Suz and Aziraphale - yep, I kind of feel that way too, so I'm not in a hurry to settle right now, but more trying things on and casting a net out.

Bonnie - I have the Charles David's on order again so I can try them on. I actually ordered them earlier and got a shoe box that said my size on it, but the shoes inside were a size smaller :(

Linder51 - I might have to try on the Pumas. Although thinking about it they might be too similar to an ankle boot I have.

lisap - Thanks My current sneakers were from several years ago, and I do check ebay for them, but no luck so far finding the same shoe, I live in hope. They originally had a patent finish.

Firecracker - I like your black/patterned whites, and those blue ones are lovely. The thing about street sneakers is if they are refined enough to work with your outfits, they are are so much more comfortable then most other shoes, so it's nice to have a few.

JAileen - yeah I remember when boxing shoes like those had a brief moment in the 80's as fashion sneakers too. Those Micheal Kors sneakers are worth a look, I like the bold design, maybe if I could sharpie the logo so it's less bright lol...

Sarah - I don't know if Diesel used to be less expensive, maybe in the 80's-90's? Mine were on clearance at the Rack. I've looked into repairing them (no go), and actually redone the white finish a few times with a white shoe scuff polish, but they are developing pretty deep cracks. I squeezed an extra two years out of them, I'll see if I can get them through this summer or until I find a replacement.

rachylou - I've seen some Camper's that I loved the look of, usually not in my price range unless on sale, but sometimes.

Mauvish - yeah I'm going to do some ordering with free returns and some try ons. I can usually tell right away. Those Race Runners are lovely aren't they - it's hard to baby sneakers, darn.

annagybe - how cute are those ones with the toe pansies. I also like the more false gray black and white patterned ones on their own merits, but I'm looking for something more stark/high contrast for the replacement. I saw this in my size, although the hightop takes it in a more stompy direction I kind of like it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NWB-Di.....-SOLD-OUT-

I am wondering if you actually try on few sneakers than we might be able to tell if they work with dress and casual outfits.

Right now we are comparing to what you are wearing to others which are not seen worn. May be we are not giving them a chance -- just my thinking.

Also I find these super sweet, though they are not in your criteria and they are pricey -

Your Diesels are SO cute. I want them! Is it possible to have them repaired? I looked on the Diesel website and they have some sneakers that are cute but expensive. Is it my imagination or did Diesel used to be a cheaper brand?

How about this one:

http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/mi.....ltback=635

My only reservation is that it's Michael Kors and so of course it has his name plastered on it.

ETA: the Puma high tops look like boxing shoes. Not sure if that's a look you're going for.

I agree with Janet. Your old ones are so perfect with your outfits and your style overall.
I like the ones Kkards linked to--the Nikes--as they look more like street than court wear, like your Diesel ones do. But maybe they are too much black and not enough white?
I love my Mephisto black and white sneakers. They are definitely workhorses for me. I also have a pair of high top hidden wedge sneakers in pewter that I love, by Paul Green. My latest crush is a blue pair by Paul Green, and I'm trying not to cave and buy them, because I really, really do not need another pair of street sneakers. (do I? ha ha!)

Another one in awe of how perfect your current Diesels are, and how great both of your outfits here look ! I've always really liked your style, and even though it's not mine, I do enjoy seeing what you wear and how you style things. You're very good at it. Anyways , the shoes. Those Pumas worry me a bit because they are wrestling shoes, aren't they? Or at least they sure look like them. Seeing as your current bulk/whites have been so successful for you , I'd tend toward duplicating them. Why fix a look if it's not broken?

My first reaction was that the PUMA high-tops are fabulous. They don't really replace your old ones, though, being quite a different kind of shoe.

I agree with Janet and Suz that your old ones are actually better than any of the new ones. I do like the Adidas women's originals (second pic), and that's what I'd go with, unless I found something with a more black-and-white look. I definitely prefer real sneaker soles to the "wedge sneaker fashion shoes" -- but that's a personal taste thing.

Love both of your outfits and the shoes are fantastic. I have been looking at white shoes and finally ordered the adidas white with black stripe superstars. They're supposed to arrive on Monday, so I'm hoping they work. The Charles David sneakers look very similar to the ones in the photo - have you tried them?

I agree with Janet.
The deisel ones are kind of unique, whereas I feel like I've seen the all the alternatives you've posted.

Some sort of unique black and white shoe might be a closer replacement than these sneakers.

However, from the ones you've posted, I think the ones with the beige sole would be the best replacement, as they are a little less common and have a similar vibe to the ones you have.

I like your current ones way better than any of the possible replacements so far -- I love how they read more "sporty lite" rather than like you just decided to wear running shoes with your street clothes. I vote keep looking.

They do remind me just a bit of my Ash Genials.

I like the men's Adidas Samba soccer shoe best for your requirements! I of course love the colored Onitsuka Tiger (and have spotted that one before -- my size was already gone though!) but brightly colored sneaks, while fun, don't work with everything, even as a kind of "wild card" addition that doesn't have to match. Maybe if you decide to go with *two* options ...

The closest thing I have to a black and white shoe with more white are these recently-acquired Saucony DXN Tokyos -- http://www.saucony.com/en/toky.....color=S702
I don't think they are really what you are looking for based on your examples above, but maybe they will appeal to someone else looking to fill a similar niche.
