Sorry to chime in late on this. I've looked at it a few times, but there was a lot to consider! Not sure how many of the new pair you are looking to keep, but I do agree that the Nikes and the paint spattered ones are my faves . I do like the first sand coloured metallic ones, but they strike me as ever-so-slightly conservative for you. Or something, just can't get the word I want there:)

Keep both pugs.

Get rid of the too-small sneakers - I mean, why keep them? Love the Paul Green new ones - I fondled them lovingly when I saw them myself. And I don't get the whole Sperry Topsiders thing, but I do realize it's more of an Americana /preppy look that doesn't really get worn a lot in my part of the world. They look uber comfy though. I agree with perhaps donating the green wedges - and keeping the other two pair.

Just to be clear, the new cherry blossom Nikes are not snug -- they feel good! It was the old Nikes (last pic) that are snug. I can wear them, but I feel aware of them when I do, in a way I don't want to feel when I wear sneakers, if you know what I mean. And they are too tight if I wear thin no-show socks, which really puts them in the "consign" pile. I'm testing out cherry blossom ones with thin socks. I want to be able to do a lot of walking in them without feeling them, IYKWIM.

I'm leaning towards returning the PG sneakers. The fact that I'm most ambivalent about the most expensive pair probably means I should pass on them. I've been testing out the PG sandals below, and I think I'd get more wear out of those, and that they might fit my style a bit better.

This has been very helpful. Thank you!

I had to get rid of my Ash wedges as they were too low volume in the toe box. I did just order a pair of pointed-toe slip on leather sneakers for summer so I hope those are still in. I love the pair you got! They don't make your feet look too big. The cherry blossom ones are great if you can handle the snugness. I'm actually not in love with the PGs - maybe TMGO with my new love of less is more?

More pug breaks please! :)

I like new pairs 1 and 3. No. 2 are too fun for me, lol. I'm not feeling 16-18, but 1) I'm hanging on to my own wedge sneaks and 2) these maybe essentials that make a number of outfits happen. Do they?

I love the PG rose gold sneakers but I can see how the price could be offputting for sneakers (I know I have a hard time justifying money for non-gear sneakers. I pay big bucks for running shoes though). The other two are great and I would get rid of the too snug Nikes. You have so many other great pairs that keeping them doesn't seem worth it.

Thanks, everybody! Good input here. To your point, Nancy, I'm also trying to be smart about my budget, and yeah, the PG sneakers are pricey. I'd be more inclined to go for those and forgo the others if I felt like those were "the sneakers to rule them all" but I'm really not sure that's the case. I think I'd rather have a bit of variety at a lower price point than one pricey pair of sneakers.

So yeah, shopping and budget. I came home with the patterned jersey "wrap" skirt and three new pairs of summer pants/crops from Anthro last night, as well as a cute jacket that is not a need at all, and is in fact about to be out of season. Oh, and the PG sandals too. I'm very much on the fence about a couple of those new items but I wanted to look at them in the context of my wardrobe so I decided to bring them home -- thank goodness for excellent return policies.

The good news is that if I end up with a couple of new pairs of sneakers, a couple of new sandals, 3-4 new bottoms for spring/summer, a new dress or two, and a top or two, I will be set to stop shopping again until NAS.

I think the PG sneakers are very cool. The only thing that gives me pause is that they cost as much as the caged sandals. I mean come on, they're sneakers. If that's not relevant, then sure, I love them myself.

I am in serious PG envy here. I've had my eye on those heeled sandals you show (or a slight variation on them) since Sharan showed hers a long time ago. And the rose gold sneaks are amaze-balls, but maybe I'm biased. I happened across a similar pair (PG Cage sneaker in the lighter colourway, with some metallic, finds below) in Rack but sadly they were 1/2 size too big. They were super comfy too, in case you need more options (haha).

I don't know, Janet, I am one of those people saying "keep them all" but understand you don't want dups or to steal wears. But I do see some marked differences between them all.

Dogs - awesome!
Nike - These look like one of those outer space pictures. I really like them. I think they would look better with white laces, though.
All Black - I like these a lot. They remind me of Toms
Paul Green - kind of blah

Great choices! I personally don't love the PG sneakers, especially for the money. They're just so... Light? Nothing RATE or interesting about them to me, and based on your posts I think you like those aspects. To me, the PG sandal booties you just picked up are way more exciting and fabulous.
I think the new Nikes and the paint splatter pointy toes are terrific and absolute keepers!

Oh, and just to complicate matters, I had a bit of a shopping time last night -- unplanned but quite fruitful for some spring/summer refreshers. I may post some K/R in another post, but I was breezing through Nordstrom with a return and spotted the Paul Green metallic open-toed sandals (see Find). I had to try them on since I've been admiring them whenever they've been posted here. They fit well and are so comfortable. I brought them home to evaluate with my closet.

I now need to do a thorough spring/summer wardrobe evaluation to see what stays and what goes!

Thanks! This is great helpful feedback.

I have a weird soft spot for those Sperrys and am reluctant to part with them. For one thing, they're really comfortable. And there is something about the low-vamp slip-on style that I like on my feet a lot. But I don't want to look like I'm hanging onto an old style. Hmm. Maybe I'll try them on with some outfits and get some feedback. I tend to throw them on with denim cutoffs or other shorts and a casual top for really casual days when I want a change from sandals. But since I've had the slip-on sneakers, they haven't been worn as much. I'll take a closer look.

(I am yearning for the light blue ones, but I don't think I can justify the cpw for me.)
2. replace the Nikes that are too small with the new cherry blossom ones--they are super!!
3. keep the All Blacks because they are absolutely awesome for you. I love that paint splatter design and the pointy toe. I would even consider replacing one of the old slip-ons with this pair if you wanted to keep to a 1-in, 1-out deal. Though if you are relegating the Cons to ranch wear, then that counts. In fact, I think you're a pair up already.

I'd be reluctant to let the green high-tops go just yet. But I'm still wearing my hidden-wedge high-tops (pewter Paul Greens with touch of deep red on the tongues), and I'm ignoring whether they're quite on trend or not.

I really enjoyed the pug break--so cute!

I love sneakers!!

If I was picking one pair from the new ones I would choose the Nike

(Are these for casual wear or for walking/running/gym?).

A close second is the All Blacks (of course, coming from NZ, but do you want more slip ons), and third the Paul Greens.

Of your existing ones the Nike need to go if they are too tight. I like the Black Ash's but not so much the green... I really like the studded ones. And I like all your slip ons.

My sneaker wardrobe includes:
- running shoes (only worn for gym and actual exercise)
- Hot Pink Adidas lites (worn for walking and some days on the go)
- Pewter Hi- Tops (worn a lot last year, I am not quite as in love this year, but work well with straight leg jeans rolled up, and are okay with skinny jeans)
- white converse (ideally would replace with white leather, depending on budget)

Pics 1-4: not as sure about these, but maybe I'm just not picturing their accompaniments well. I can see them working with white/light clothes, or shorts where there is more leg working with their color. For some reason I want shoe matching laces rather than white ones for possibly more edge?

Pics 5-8 LOVE these on you and they seem to work well with your colors and preferred prints -- they look awesome with those jeans. My favorites.

9-12 also like these quite a lot, especially with tonal black and gray clothes. The photographic print is great for you too.

13-14 KEEEP! ;)

15 - these look quite good to me, glad you are keeping

16 - I say keep the Sperrys if you like and let the cons go for work shoes.

17 - I like all these but I could see letting the green ones go if you tire of them. I would try dying the brown ones black with tape covering the sole, putting in black laces and cleaning up the sole with a magic eraser (unless it's intentional) -- they could be great and get much more wear.

18 - look more like gear to me, so I wouldn't necessarily keep if they weren't comfortable as gear.

Ok, ladies -- and Angie, I would love your input if you have a moment! -- I would like your feedback as I review, edit, and augment my sneaker collection. Ignore styling in photos -- I just put the shoes on with the grungies I wore today to work at the rental house.

First off -- the new contenders for a place in my closet.

Pics 1-4. Paul Green rose gold sneaks. Pricey but PG quality is very good. Neutral and would go with everything, but I do have rose gold Sperrys (in pic 16) which could arguably serve the same purpose. .

Pics 5-8. All Black pointed toe slip-on sneaks. I love the print and the pointy toe but they do make my feet look a little bigger (which doesn't bother me, my feet are quite average in size so I'm not sensitive to this). Interesting that they read more neutral from a distance and make more of a statement as you get closer.

Pics 9-12. Nike Roshe sneaks in black and white cherry blossom print. I fell in love with these online and had to try them. I like that the b&w print is interesting without being too high contrast. Possible replacement for turquoise Nikes from a couple of years ago (pic 18), which I like but I goofed when I bought them -- I should have sized up a little because they are ever so slightly snug.

Pics 13-14. Pug break!

Pics 15-18. What I already own.

15. Slip on sneaks from last year -- DV in silver and mint, and Via Spiga in snake print. All got plenty of wear last year, but I'm craving a little more variety in sneaker style. I'll keep these.

16. Two pairs of old Cons that are being relegated to ranch wear. And the rose gold Sperrys which I want to keep -- not sneakers, I know, but I wear them the same way I'd wear sneakers. The Sperrys are a few years old but still in good shape, and I like them even if they're not trending right now. I know, they're a little preppier than one might expect of me, but the color makes them work.

17. Sneakers but not for summer. I think I might let go of the green Ash wedge sneaks since they are not feeling so current anymore. Not sure. I do wear the black Ash Genials but only with jeans or my moto pants -- I don't like how they look on me with crops. I love the studded Frye high tops, but I keep wishing they were black instead of brown. I'd like to keep but wonder about dyeing.

18 Nikes that are a little too snug that I should probably sell.

So, what do you think of the new sneaker options? They all seem pretty comfortable out of the box, but I will evaluate further.

And if you made it through all that, what do you think about my keep/toss ponderings on my current collection?

Thanks!!!
