I took it in and in order to taper the sleeves all the way up they also have to do the side at least a bit. So the sides are getting taken in with the sleeves. It will be ready next Thursday, I hope it's perfect!

Mochi it is supposed to be 3/4 length sleeves. I suspect they might look better once I have them taken in. I think the wideness is not helping.

Aw thanks Una, I have not heard that before!

Well I think I will drop it off for the sleeves today and then I'll show you the results. If I decide the body needs to be done later, I can always go back. Thanks!

To me it's interesting that Angie didn't mention sleeve length. Not that this is absolutely a problem, but I always feel confusion in this area. My arms being short, a lot of sleeves fall in this no-man's length area between my elbow and wrist, where I suspect they would be three-quarter sleeves if worn "correctly." So it always looks odd to me to see a sleeve hitting in that spot. But again, that's my perception and not necessarily a problem. In any case, you look super-cute in that blazer, RR!

Agree it's the sleeves and not the body. You are SO pretty, Rae - has anyone told you you look like this rocker chick, Meredith Brooks (when she was younger, of course!)?

Looks gorgeous on you Rae - what a great investment!
I especially like it undone...and am wondering how it might look with the sleeves rolled up ...ever so slightly.

Yes the shoulder pads seem to be built in under the lining. I wondered about getting those out. Not sure if it would be helpful or not.

Yah my hair is feeling pretty limp these days. I am glad I'm getting it cut next week. It was a lot thicker, I lost honestly about half of it after the baby! My pony tail feels so small.

(I LOVE your stick straight hair and Cleopatra fringe, RR. It's magical to my eye).

No need to adjust the torso. It is absolutely tailored enough. The sleeves could do with some narrowing though. Does it have shoulder pads?

I like it buttoned as is, but think that it looks a little big unbuttoned. But I'm never sure about blazer fit...hopefully Angie can weigh in!

This is my new blazer, I got it a few weeks ago and am just getting to the photos now. I am thinking the sides need to be taken in. Also I don't know if it possible, but the arms could use some slimming too. I was super nervous about which size to buy as they are supposed to run very small, but I think where this one is more of a spring jacket it's not as small as some. It is a thicker fabric though, and fully lined.

First photo - undone
Second photo - buttoned as is
Third photo - pinned over to make it tighter, though it wouldn't look like this altered, as I'd have the sides taken in and the front wouldn't cross over.

So how does it look? Does it need alterations, or it works....or it's just a mess on me! Looking at the photos I think it photographs better than it is...it looks bigger in person, I find.
