OK thanks Greg! Super fast response! So it will work as the first two but not the third option with a space in between. I think I can remember that. :-)

Now fixed, although I'm afraid if you leave a space between the eyes and the mouth (your 3rd example) then it won't be recognized as a smiley. :-|

Thanks for pointing this out. It seems that there is something amiss with the smileys and I'll look into it.

Regarding the ads, I really appreciate the sentiment, but please don't worry about that. A lot of the ads generate revenue just by appearing. :-)

Edit: See there -- my smiley worked and yours didn't. Must fix!

Hi Greg,
Sometimes when I post a colon plus a close parentheses I get a smiley face. I think have also gotten one when inserting a dash between the two symbols. But sometimes neither works. How do I consistently make faces? I use Safari if that matters.

Another question, there are the auto Google ads and non-Google ads (there is usually a symbol in the top right corner to distinguish). Is one type of ad more financially beneficial to YLF? I like to support YLF. :-) :) : )
