Karen, I think it is drapier, but I’m not sure about softer. The linen is very textured. The stripes are thicker. Anyway, the hem was kind of wrinkled so I sprayed it with water and smoothed it out, but didn’t iron it.

It look great - even better than the pre wash try on. Did the linen soften a lot? It looks much more drapey now.

I broke out a linen shirt yesterday for my trip to your town. Perfect for sun cover over a tank. And agree on the yucky. Not as bad in the mountains, but not great.

I wore the dress today to church (this is the S). I had washed and dried it, and this picture was taken after sitting in it *and* wearing a seat belt. I don’t think it looks much like a tent now. BTW, my husband thinks it looks like a nightgown. I don’t care! It was nice and cool on such a yucky day. Not only is it still broiling hot, but it’s smoky from the fires in California.

I like the S best on you, especially to be most comfortable in the heat. I don't think any of my EF pieces stretch out on wearing, but may shrink a bit when washed.

Thanks all, I’m still undecided. The XS feels too short as Mirjana noticed, snug going over my head, and just more of a struggle getting on. When I sit, it wants to ride up. The S looks a bit like a tent, though. I think the dress is supposed to be very loose. Those that are familiar with my WIWs know that I am *not* extra small. I am 5’6”, and not thin. I think the decision is between the S or nothing.

Karen we’ve been in a heat wave since we came back from Alaska. So far, nine days 100 or over. When you come down, come early. I took a picture of the weekly forecast for my son in Minnesota.

the xs looks better from the front view, but I like the side view of the S better, and the S front view still looks good. If it is super comfy and you like the S view, keep. The temps don't look to be falling any time soon.

I just got back from a month overseas - with the last 3 weeks in Australian winter. I was not ready for the heat. I have to get down to your neck of the woods and I'm not looking forward to it.

Definitely the size S, The XS looks skimpy to my eye because the style is designed to be loose and breezy. For the record, I have a couple of similar EF linen dresses that are my trusted fallbacks when the weather gets hot and muggy. The looseness of the style keeps wrinkling to a minimum once the linen softens after a few wash cycles.

I finally received the EF dress in a smaller size. It might look better, but it sure doesn’t feel better. It feels too constrained through the shoulders. Is this dress a lost cause?

1-2. Smaller size (XS)
3-4. Larger size (S)
5-6. Stock photos
