Suz, I wonder if this style isn't better suited for very casual occasions, anyway? Thank you for posting about your experience, it is most helpful and interesting, anyway to me. I have been shying away from the style precisely for the same reasons as you describe. I AM curvy waist-down, even if I look slim from the top. So I am afraid that any slouch would emphasize this. However, surprisingly, the BF work on my frame. But I don't know if one can be so lucky with skinnies...

Sarah - thank you! This is what everybody else says, too.

But Angie has white Kuts that do not bag out on her.

It's just a mystery the way denim works sometimes. Shannon's Gap Long and Leans bagged out so much she had to donate; mine never stretch at all!

Okay, I am back to talk about this some more.

Aida, you are the FIRST other person here who has said her Diana's slouch on her. I think I am curvier than you might imagine....at least in THAT part of my anatomy! But I cant' imagine our curves is what make the pants stretch out...or could it be? I honestly don't mind the stretch. I quite like the effect and I definitely like the comfort. I didn't even size up when I bought them, but you would not know it after an hour's wear. Then again, I didn't size DOWN, either, and I had heard with Kuts people often do need to.

So....latest update. I tried on my Banana Republic Heritage slouchy skinny again this morning. I just LOVE these jeans. They are exactly what I am looking for in a slouchy skinny. Lots of room at the top, crotch drop, tons of room in the thighs, etc. But they hang great.

The problem? They are SUPER distressed with rips. So they're great for casual weekend wear, but not so great if I want to look a little bit dressier.

I want something just like that but not distressed.

FYI, Suz, I have Kuts in a dark blue wash and in black, and they do NOT slouch after wearing - it's one of the reasons I love them so much! So, if you're going to try the Kuts in other washes, I would suggest sizing up.

I'll be interested to hear how it goes, Suz. I was wondering the same thing with the boyfriend sized up idea that a lot of y'all have been sporting. I bought a one-size-bigger pair of jeans from the thrift store and really liked how they looked at first, but as the day went by they bagged out and I kept on having to tug them up. Even with a belt I'm afraid they'd look too baggy in the crotch etc. I wonder if my body type just isn't suited to things that are loose at the waist.

Suz those white Kuts are slouchy on me too! I sized up one extra to make it more intentional looking. I'm much curvier than you though, so not sure why they fit me the same way.

I'm going to do a little experimenting tomorrow if I can. I did try on straighter styles today, too, and they looked equally dumb...but this was Old Navy, so what did I expect? I don't have many options here in town but at minimum I can investigate the Gap and see if the Always Skinnies would work. I had a pair last winter that did get pretty slouchy on me; at one point I dubbed them Always Baggies. THey got too loose to tuck into boots very well. So maybe one size up they'd be the ticket.

I don't think you need sized-up curvy jeans. I think you need sized up skinny jeans. Like the toothpick or the matchstick styles at j. crew? Hudsons also bag out and could work - mine all turned into slouchy skinnies but were too low-rise for me so went to consignment.

That might be the problem, Ariadne, although I tried on "curvy fit" jeans that i normally do not wear, since that's what Angie was wearing in her post. But they really just looked like too big, badly fitting jeans on me. And they sort of...I don't know....STOOD there. Big gap at the waist but stuck to me on the knees. It was quite comical.

Cathy, Canadian Sears doesn't carry those ones Angie was wearing. What is the good of multinational corporations if they can't carry the same clothes?! !! <joke>

My Kut from the Kloth Diana's really ARE slouchy skinnies on me. I am not sure why. When I bought them a few people even worried they were too snug. And I have not lost weight. But after about an hour of wear they are really quite baggy on me, but not in a bad way (I don't think). They're comfy. But mine are the white ones. I am wondering if the other colours would fit the same way.

I kind of wonder if curvier body types can pull off these looks (although you're much less curvy than me, I think, Suz). Angie, can we? I always seem to see slouchy looks worn successfully by more rectangular, straight up-and-down, slender body types. For me to find jeans that were slouchy at the thigh area (my "curviest" area by far), I suspect I'd have to size up so far that the calf area would swish around like a skirt. But maybe I'm wrong.

Hm, wonder if the Kut from the Kloths Dianas will work? I really am liking the slouch skinny look. Tempted to go to Sears and check out the actual jeans Angie's wearing -- they're on sale for $24.99

So, today I went and tried on some skinnies a few sizes up.

They looked nothing like Angie's slouchy skinnies.

They looked dumb.

They were falling down at the waist, yes, and also very baggy in a bad way on the thighs (weird, given my thighs) and tight at the knee and down. They just looked wrong.

So...where does one find these perfect slouchy skinnies?

This was at Winner's and at ON. I have not tried Gap yet or others.
