hmmm, well as the rule for capris goes- you don't want them to stop at the widest part of your leg, perhaps the same rule for boots applies. Perhaps you need to wear your shorter boots with jeans, and find some taller boots to wear with skirts and dresses. Just a thought.

*bump*

I'm trying to steel myself for "slouchy boot shopping" - boots are tough for me to find since I'm tall and have ample calves. So, I'd love to keep this thread going; I'm sure I'm not the only one trying to get her head around looking good in slouchy boots and skirts/ dresses.

Never worry about overloading, we live for this, you know that! We love to help out.
I can see you in slouchy boots, interesting hose or tights, maybe patterned, and the right skirt shape, the right top, all balanced proportionately. I have faith it will work. It is a matter of finding the right pieces.

Yes, I know pictures are better...I'll get around to those, hopefully. I'm afraid I'm going to overload you guys with pictures as I have been saving up a bunch of questions

I was just curious if there were some general guidelines. I know thicker ankles don't necessarily work well with gladiators so I was just wondering if these fit into that type of category.

Dani, I don't really know a lot about this - but could you post some pictures? That might help people troubleshoot what's going on. I know that Angie says the look works better with shorter skirts. What length skirts are you using?

Is there a specific body type that is better suited to this look than others?

I have the Star Ling slouchy boots and was trying them with some different looks the other day and the boots with a skirt just didn't do anything for me. I have muscular calves so I'm thinking I should just stick to wearing these boots over jeans...am I correct in that line of thinking?
