I purchased 4 pairs of bf jeans so I am the wrong person to ask. I tend to go overboard when I love something.

I went overboard on colored jeans, but only paid a lot for 2-3 pairs, the rest that came in really bright colors I got for $20 or so. Thus I don't feel badly passing them on. The expensive ones I have considered dyeing.

Thanks, Claire! :)
Isn't it funny how some things just speak to us? I'm seeing a lot of pointy-toed ballet flats here this season, so I suspect you may be ahead of the curve by stocking up.

Sharon, we missed you, and I'm so glad you're feeling better. I struggled with SAD when I lived in a cloudy place, so I can feel your pain. Yay for spring sunshine!

I think you should stock up on slipper flats while they're trending. I don't think they'll look *out* for a long time. Pointy-toed ballet flats were a fringe trend last year and I bought three pairs of them. For some reason they seem to say "Claire" more than any other flat shoe out there and I love them. At first I was worried that I might be over-doing it, but I can't imagine getting tired of them any time soon.

Hi Deborah, good to see you too! I have been following YLF and enjoying your outfits. I always struggle with mood a bit during the colder months, so tend to withdraw from interaction, but feeling much better now I can see the sun!

I'm glad to hear you'll be going all out on a trend, too! I never really loved ballet flats, and slipper flats have a bit of a retro vibe that I do love.

Hi Sharon, good to see you:). I think you have to weigh up the value of the trend to you. I think slipper flats are actually pretty classic and you may get more wear out of them than you think. Also if wearing trends is important and you think you won't wear them once the trend has peaked, it is worth considering how many pairs you invest in. If you love them and see them as a longer term wardrobe item, regardless of trends, then i say buy as many as you want:). That's my logic anyway. I have bought a lot of high low tops. I love them and them being on trend or not is irrelevant as I anticipate wearing them until they fall apart.

Hi all. I am totally loving slipper flats. I have bought two pair already this season and am contemplating another. Do you think it is a mistake to buy a lot of a trendy item, or do you think if you find a trend you love you should stock up? I guess I worry that in 12 months I will look dated and I will have spent a lot of money on a "trend", an idea I really dislike. How do you all negotiate this?
