I am also a fan of the jockey Skimmies, and in my opinion they make a nice full slip as well. I don't have much occasion for the slip, but it's nice to have it if needed.

Great reviews. I think every year someone here is searching for anti-chafing shorts. And you so right that slips are rarely available (or easily visible) at retail except I suppose in speciality lingerie shops, and possibly not even there.

I still have some of my mother's old slips from the 60s! But I rarely have cause to wear them.

Peri, I know this is a pretty niche need these days, and everybody seems to like something different. My most important criteria was to reduce the static and not feel too hot.

I have several linen dresses that in sunlight are not as opaque as I might prefer. This hedges against that and makes me not worry I'm showing more than intended. Anti chafing in the shorts is a bonus.

Thanks for your reviews, this has been on my mind! Mostly because I'm seeing daily FB ads on cooling slip shorts from Thigh Society and Angie has mentioned that brand in the past. I haven't tried any because I rarely wear dresses, but I'm still curious. I'll be following this with great interest.

I live in a dry climate and wear a lot of dresses and skirts. There have been years where I was not wearing slips, but I have come back around to them for comfort, modesty, and improvement in the way the clothing hangs. I had slips I wore since high school for decades, but eventually I needed some new items. A lot of what I saw in stores was too staticky and cheap feeling, plus this isn't a category very stocked at retail anymore.

I found the brand Mancyfit on Amazon, and I've become a fan. I wear their pettipant/bloomers shorts and have recently purchased a half slip that is working well. I've also had good success with the cooling slip shorts from Jockey that I've gotten from Target. I did find the slip shorts in stores. They don't squeeze uncomfortably at the waist and the slip shorts are not compressing in any way. They just provide a nice layer for smoothing and anti chafing if needed. They are also not hot, which is important to me.
