Just a thought- can you determine the two lengths you want, and make the depth of the folded part of the longer hem the same as the difference between the two hems? That way, with the slimmer fir, you might be able to just turn/roll under to shorten, and the weight of the fabric will give a nicer look and hold better.

I'm not sure I'm explaining well. It will work best if the difference/hem depth is not more than 2"' and the ankle is not too tapered. Also, I'd probably serge the inner edge and blind stitch the hem so it is 2 layers when down, and 3 layers thick when rolled under. If you double turn the longest hem, it might be too thick when rolled under.

I'm just think out loud as I write this, so I hope my stream of consciousness makes sense.

I like the black pair that come all the way down to the shoes. But then I also like dresses that are floor length. I am not sure why but they seem more elegant and beautiful to me.

For Spring & Summer - and even in Fall with booties, I vote cropped lengths. Lets see them on Chris, and decide on a length with your footwear together.

I recently bought some black slim-leg stretch pants with a fit somewhere between #1 and 2 below. I need to hem them and am unsure about what length would be the most versatile. I'd like to be able wear them with heels AND flats, and I'm ok with rolling them up sometimes.

I'm thinking I should hem them to hit at the bottom of the ankle bone like pics #1,2,and 3, but not as long as #4 unless I really want a scrunched look.

What do you all think?

Thanks in advance ...
