I decided that my arms were fat. &nbsp;My lovely, strong, young arms.&nbsp;&nbsp;It took me until I was in my 30s and had my first child to love my arms again. I was lifting him a thousand times a day and my arms were big, strong mommy arms. Capable mommy arms. Lovely mommy arms. &nbsp;When I realized that, I threw it all aside. I feel the same way about my legs, which have spider veins and even some varicose veins. When the first one appeared in my early thirties, I decided I should cover them by wearing long, Duggar style skirts all summer. Now that I live where a lot of people come to retire, I see fab older women confident in their bodies and no one covers their arms and they all wear modest shorts. It's just to hot here to worry about it. The sense of freedom is truly liberating.
