I prefer a longer sleeve - partly for style, partly my climate. I think a tiny bit shorter would be okay but the long sleeve is fine with me!

It's a great jacket, but my first impression, before reading from others, is that #1 seems a tad long. There's got to be a sweet spot, because long doesn't feel good and neither does too short. I also don't understand what the SA meant, because quite often leather jackets can be bought snug as they will stretch out a bit over time.

What Sveta said. It looks like an easy alteration. And by the way, that jacket looks AMAZING on you.

I agree that the sleeves look a bit overwhelming in #1. The SA was correct to a certain extent; leather WILL mold to the body and the elbows will get a bent shape to them with wear. This happens with almost all leather that is worn regularly. However, it will not bend to adjust 1-1/4".

I also think sleeves in #1 are too long - they awould be even a bit long for the coat where ideal sleeve length is at the base of the thumb I think.
You can go a bit longer that in #2 but I woud not go beyond that thumb base in the length.

Yup. I like my sleeves, especially on outerwear (for me, all leather jackets are outerwear), to be really long. I don't like my wrists showing, like, EVER. Most of YLF routinely tells me my sleeves are too long. The exceptions are Anna and Rae.

Donna, they do not feel snug.

Diana, why do you prefer the longer version? Is that where you wear yours?

Hmm, I need to think on this some more.

I think #1 looks too long also. In the end, it is about functionality - will they get in your way at this length or is it neither here nor there?

I think #1 looks a little too long, but I would not go as short as #2. But I am more comfortable with a little extra length, while a too-short sleeve drives me nuts, unless it is a scrunchable sleeve.

Yes, you are drowning in the first sleeve length. And the SA may be right--I just don't think she's 1 1/4" right.

I had the same issue with my Michael Kors moto jacket! The sleeves were about 1 inch too long so I had my tailor shorten them. It was good decision - the too long sleeves would have driven me nuts! The sales associate, IMHO, was incorrect to tell you that the sleeves would "mold". I have never seen that happen!

Well, *I* like them full length, which means that the majority of YLF will think they're too long. I think the SA is right too. I tend to get wrinkles at my elbows on my leather jackets that make them shorter.

Please take a look at the sleeve length of the Classiques leather and tweed jacket and tell me your opinions. When I purchase it the SA said it was a good length and that it would get shorter as I wore it because the leather would mold to my elbow and arm. I think the sleeves are too long. I folded them under about 1 1/4 inches to see what the jacket looks like with the shorter sleeves. #1 has the longer sleeves and #2 has the folded sleeves. What say you all?
