Sarah has graciously told the story of how Alexander made it for her and how charmed she was by him and his desire to get the dress absolutely perfect. For me that was the most fantastic of all his collections - being designed by Alexander himself and drawing on his Scottish heritage. </p> <p>I have always harboured a desire to own a McQueen black frock coat, so Una's comment about the leggings is instructive. I imagined that if I ever splurged on one, it would be the most amazingly constructed garment, but alas the house is a big business and so even at such a high price the quality may not be there. Perhaps I should continue to admire the McQueen legacy from afar. But I wear the scarves year 'round; the print is classic McQueen and not Halloween to me.
