I think if you fold what's currently showing in half that would be about right. </p> <p>Your example also uses 3 solids, which is definitely more of a challenge...I find it's easier to do the longer layer/"flash prevention" thing when either my topmost or bottom layer has a print with which I can tone in.</p> <p>In terms of color, I'll often try to tone in with the lower layer like you're doing with the dark purple/denim [see also grey/black or dark denim/dark brown]. The bottom layer could have been more visible on top of the jeans. Just a little lighter long layer or lighter pants would make it pop I think. Belting would also help depending on what the layers are. </p> <p>Being on the tall side, I do this often. My experience is that the color mixing makes the look. The layering color should come back as a surprise element somewhere else in the outfit. I have a large collection of colored camisoles for this purpose.
