It's probably the high-vamp oxfords that are tripping me up. I love them in theory, but find them difficult with longer skirts. Here where I live, summers are in general not terribly hot. These days, we have around 18 - 20 degrees Celsius. Some weeks might get hot - up to 30 perhaps, but generally cooler than that. I work in high effective air conditioning, so normally I can easily wear long sleeves or even a blazer at work.
