I am pretty sure it doesn't have to do with the boots being too wide. Mine might be a hair too tall but they are snug in the calf. This is how mine look and it drives me crazy:

http://img.photobucket.com/alb.....G_0992.jpg

Those folds on the inside of the ankle are so bothersome to me.

Shiny is right that slouch boots are probably better since they are meant to look that way, but it's not practical to have those as your only option. I have been wearing my riding boots a lot less than my slouch boots though, just because of the ankle bunching.

Here are my current favorite skinnies, which fit in your price range:

http://www.urbanoutfitters.com.....NS_APPAREL

You can see me wearing them here - first photo on the left in the row of 4:
http://youlookfab.com/2009/11/.....-outfit-5/

These are SUPER skinny - almost like jeggings, except the denim is thicker (and warm for winter). They are very stretchy, but they do not bag out at the knee at all when tucked into boots. They also come in a low rise version. I love the high-rise version, which hits right at my belly button and sucks all the jiggly parts in. These are good if you have a thicker waist too - it's the first time I've ever needed a belt to hold up my jeans!

The reviews say that the black version fades a lot. I have the dark blue, and it has faded somewhat but not too bad (and I've washed them numerous times - I also throw them in the dryer). If you are a rectangle with average or thin calves, these should fit you great. I love them so much, I duplicated.

As for the ankle issue with the boots, it sounds like your boots are too wide for you. Are they supposed to be slouchy boots? Do you have a pic? I have 13 inch calves and I need nothing higher than 13.5 inches in height, and it's VERY difficult to find sleek fitting boots with those dimensions right now. Slouchy, shorter boots I can find, but not sleek, tall ones. Seems everything is designed for a wider calf and taller leg.

Hi Maya,
Thanks for the reply, I would say my boots bunch worse than Angie's in the pics. they bunch so much it disrupts the straight look of the shaft of the boot. was thinking it might be because the boots are too big for my calves so they are slipping down & bunching, but I'm pretty sure my calves are an average-ish size so I don't understand it.

As for jeans, I'm looking to spend around $75 or less if possible. For a really great pair though I'm willing to spend more. My shape is rectangle.

thanks!!

I have the same problem with ankle-sagging in boots and I have no idea what causes it. I think it must just be something about how we walk. I would like to take my boots to a cobbler and see what they say. Obviously there must be SOME scrunch around the ankle, otherwise there would be no give for your foot to move independently of your leg...but in my case, and probably yours, it's rather extreme. If you look at Angie's post here:

http://youlookfab.com/2008/09/.....igh-boots/

Hers bunch a bit, but not as much as mine do. Do yours look worse or about the same as hers?

As for jeans, how much are you willing to spend and what shape are you?

Hi,
I just recently found YLF and I am loving it!

I was wondering if anyone could help me with 2 things:
1- can you suggest some brands/stores for great skinny or straight jeans that are a reasonable price, won't get baggy in the rear/knee area, and also aren't too low of a rise?

2- I have recently bought some tall boots to wear with my skinnys tucked in, but an issue I am having is that the boots are looking really baggy at the ankles - does anyone have any ideas for how I can prevent or avoid this?

thanks!!!
