Mo it's great to see you again. I love the tunic you're wearing in photo 2! You look fab, as always.
I hope the Mavis work for you! Orders and returns are tiring.

Ah, wise words ladies! No, I don't think I've tried stretchy, legging-like jeans. I don't necessarily need the super suction stretch all up and down my body as much as I do an 8" or 9" leg opening to not have seams bunching up in my boots and rubbing my ankles :/ Hmmm.
sucks not having an in-person try on. I don't want to play on the returns merry go round. ugh.

EDIT: I decided to try the Mavi after seeing specs of 8" on 6pm.com. fingers crossed! http://www.6pm.com/mavi-jeans-.....139&k

One more thing, along the lines of what Denise says - my best calf fit is with denim that has a lot of stretch, or with a more legging-like material.

I would opt for a more legging style to get this fit. Have you tried the Paige Verdugo? Those are my most calf-sucking jeans while fitting well in the waist. To get a really skinny calf in Rag & Bone, for example, I need a smaller size which means the waist is on the tight side. (And around the holidays + 5 lbs, unwearable.)

I wear CoH slick avedons. The "slick" fabric is some high tech cupro/rayon/something else blend (no itchy poly!) that is very stretchy and comfy but has just enough structure. The regular avedons are normal stretch denim, but I can't actually get them over my hips. (they are less stretchy than the slicks, which are quite pear friendly). You are not so pear shaped as me though so they might work for you.

I also like Vince for skinnies but their sizing fluctuates wildly. I have 3 pairs in 3 different sizes, and the largest numerical sized pair is the tightest, go figure.

Citizens of Humanity has some cuts good for a skinny fit. The Avalons come to mind. Also the Madewell Skinny Skinny.

I have the Prima 360. They are not as skinny as some other jeans I have (eg Rag and Bone high waist skinny or AG legging jeans) but they can easily be worn with knee high boots.

I've had good luck with jeans from Loft being very skinny in the calf and ankle. You might also try Madwell: I think they have something called the Skinny Skinny. And I have a couple of pairs of pants (though not jeans) from F21 that are very skinny in the calf.

Hi gals! Hope everyone had a great Christmas. I am back to ask about very narrow skinnies. I know many of you avoid them but I'm actually searching high and low for a pair. Hoping you guys remember which ones were 'calf sucking sausage casings' LOL!
I have a few pair on Amazon that seem like contenders but get varying leg opening measurements when I search them on Zappos or Nordies. For instance, Big Star Alex say anything from 10.5 to 8 leg opening. Maybe depending on wash? I dunno. That and the Ava by Big Star, and the Mavi Adriana are my choices I'm debating between.
I also remember Karymk tried the AG Prima 360 contours? They might be more jean than I need but maybe not. I want a pair to wear boots with for the winter that are very close to my (scrawny) lower legs.
For reference, these are Big Star Alex in white on me - 10" opening.
TIA for any leads! :)
