So then for these straighter legs, I should just hem at the floor? Then can I still wear them with heels too?

I do not have this problem. I think that my skinnies are more tapered at the ankle. They stay put scrunched. You might need to taper more to achieve that scrunched effect. That will give “the scrunch” something to hold onto. Make sense?

My straight legs are a little shorter and scrunch less.

So funny you posted this Patience because the same exact thing happened to me last Friday. I wore my matchsticks and ballet flats to an art show and kept getting caught on them, until I finally asked my friend in an exasperated tone, "Why are my jeans too long?!" And everyone in the gallery looked at me =\. They felt short enough before, even though I wasn't in heels or anything.

I don't know what the solution is: I just wanted to say that it's not just you.

I thought I had my matchstick jeans hemmed correctly, but I continually find my self stepping on them when I wear ballet flats. My question is-- what is the procedure to hem them with the proper scrunch? For example, if I take them to get hemmed, they will pull them straight at the back to mark them. If I'm wearing ballet flats, should they be marked at the floor, or a little longer? I think right now they are a good inch longer at least. I was thinking the leg openings were narrow enough that they would scrunch around my shoe and not get pulled under but I guess I was wrong.
