They look fantastic as skinnies, so protect the originals and get another pair for clamming.

Be sure to launder and dry as you intend to twice before any altering - that's what my tailor makes me do to take care of any surprises in shrinkage. . .

I'm with the gals. Duplicate for clams! Have them chopped off a little longer to begin with and alter accordingly. We'll figure out the best length with boots together :0)

Btw, you look sensational in those outfits. And I thank you for the denim shirt blog comment!

I would definitely get another pair. They look too good on you to not keep a long pair!

Since you love them so much, absolutely go ahead and buy a second pair for chopping. Good jeans are hard to find, take advantage of it while you can!

What a fantastic idea. I'd buy a second pair to make into clams. I'll leave the perfect length to the others x

Hi guys,

I just wanted to post a review of the UO high waisted skinny jeans I got about a week ago. These are the jeans that Shiny has and recommended.

Verdict? I LOVE LOVE LOVE them and have been wearing them nearly daily ever since I got them! They are so soft and comfy it feels like I am wearing leggings but with the support of jeans. They are nice and lightweight so they have been perfect for warmer days too. The high waist gives me no muffin top - yay!! They are true skinnies too, so will be great for tucking boots. And the 33" inseam is a perfect length for me (although I haven't washed them yet so I hope they don't shrink!!!)

Anyway now I'm torn. I bought these with the specific purpose of getting them cut into clams since I couldn't find any clams here in stores. But now I want to keep them as jeans as well. Is it crazy of me to order a 2nd pair??

And if I do get them chopped off as clams, exactly where should they hit on my body? I'd like to wear them with boots as Angie has showed us. Only trouble is even my knee high boots fall short of my kneecaps by several inches. Should I get them cut off to match the height of my boots, or to just below my kneecap (meaning there'd be a gap between clam and boot). And do I need to get side splits cut into them like Angie's clams, or is that optional? Argh why is this so hard!!!

Here is what I wore yesterday with the jeans:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/yublocka/4419280664/

And of course I just had to picture it with my new moto too....hehe
http://www.flickr.com/photos/yublocka/4419280936/

Plus all the recent changeroom shots have featured these jeans on the bottom.

Here's pics of my Camper boots and Doc boots, both of which I'd like to wear with the clams so you can see how high they go on my leg. They both fall well below the end of my kneecap.

Thanks for your help!
