Yay. In future, you may want skinny jeans with some stretch or Ponte knits..very stretchy and comfortable for bending.

Texstyle and Sterling - I'm feeling the extended warm weather pain too. Please, can't I just get a string of days under 90?? I'm taking a couple trips over winter/spring that should get me a brief respite. I might even feel cold!

I just heard that NC and TX could expect a mile winter this year, TexStyle. They said it would be third such winter. I didn't wear hardly any of my Winter clothes last year. I fully don't expect to wear them this year either. In fact, some of them might not even be unboxed.

I sometimes feel that way too after a long summer of wearing light weight, loose fit clothing. If it's not really cool outside I opt for looser fit lighter weight pants. I'm not sure we'll have much of a winter this year. Seems that it's taking a long time for any cold fronts to make it much past the northwest corner.

Hah, this is part of why I have no skinny jeans. Any pants that don't allow me to sit cross-legged on the floor are pretty much useless to me. :)

Of course, if these are 100% cotton, they will probably relax after a few wears...

I agree, Janet. They feel so much better today.

I don't think I can wear knee high socks with them. It was the jeans catching onto the socks and pulling in every direction that might have been the problem.

I think it's a seasonal adjustment. My ultra comfy slip on sneakers feel like something is wrong the first time I try to wear them after a winter in boots and socks. After a couple of wears with body glide, my feet adjust.

I don't think they shrunk. They fit the same in the waist and hips. The length is the same. It doesn't make sense they solely shrink in the knee area.

I have been wearing wide-legged cropped and flowy wide-legged pants over the Summer months. It was a shock to slip into something this tight. They are cotton (so no stretch). I think that I have to get used to the more form fitting silhouette of my Winter capsule. This used to be my predominant silhouette so I must have worn them without any thoughts of discomfort.

Adjustment period. Here I come. I am wearing them again. No socks this time. I felt the cotton pant leg fought with the socks and there was pulling.

Weird. The jeans must have changed somehow, shrunk or stiffened or...something. I can't imagine you would have failed to noticed something that major when you wore them before. Too bad--red jeans that fit in the waist and hips is a cool thing to have.

There can be an adjustment especially if you are used to more loose fitting items. I can't wear skinnies if it is too hot - they just feel wrong.

I only ever wear extremely stretchy skinny jeans because of the discomfort you described. (This reminds me of a news story from a couple of years ago about a woman who was hospitalized for wearing skinny jeans so tight that they cut off her circulation--see here.) But it is odd that you didn't feel this way in the past with this particular pair.

Ha! I had the opposite experience today. I wore straight leg Lucky Brand jeans to work today and my legs felt so tubular. I could feel the weight of the fabric around my calves and ankles. Couldn't wait to get them off!

I think your muscles need to readjust to wearing different types of clothing.

Wow! I love the sound of red skinny jeans. You must have looked fabulous. I have never worn skinny jeans because I look like an ice cream cone. I find that the comfort level of a piece of clothing is not always known immediately.
Maybe your skinny jeans didn`t have enough stretch in them? Saving them for special events sounds like a good idea.

I did a review of my wardrobe. This link describes the bottom half of my wardrobe. Several people reminded me to try on every garment that had been stored away during the long Summer months. I claimed I was going to do so. I did not.

https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....or-bottoms

Today I wore skinny red jeans to work. The jeans fit great in the waist and the hips. I felt fabulous as I ran off the work.

It has been a long time since I wore skinny jeans. I could comfortably bend my legs 135 degrees. I could bend my knees 90 degrees. They could not be bent one degree beyond 90 degrees.

I couldn't wait to get them off at the end of the day. How did I wear skinny jeans in the past? Is this a prelude to what I am going to find in the rest of my Winter closet?

Oh no!

Truthfully though, how did I wear them in the past? I certainly never considered them anything other than just "red jeans." I must have been used to their fit. They still fit great in the waist and the hips. It was just bending the knees that was uncomfortable.

This said, I am keeping them. Kinda like "sitting shoes," red jeans have a place in my wardrobe. Maybe not a full day at the office though ....
