Hmmm...I guess I'm going to have to try them all on. Why can't these outfits put themselves together?

I don't mind some gap at all. I generally ask myself does this look 'intentional' or does the bootie look like it's too big. If it gives of the too big vibe then I would pass.

I prefer no gap at all, so shooties work best for me, I just can't get adjusted to seeing a gap - some booties look nice and snug from the front but from the side they show a big gap.

I returned a pair I loved the look of online because on me it looked like I was standing in flower pots :/ I agree that shooties work way better on us dainty ankle gals.

When we first started seeing booties around, there was a ton of debate on the forum about that exact issue. I think ultimately it came down to "some gap is okay, just not to much...at least for most." There are a small contingent of us who don't mind more of a gap with the right bootie type (I'm in that group), but the majority felt that the gap shouldn't be more than say 1/2 inch.

Alaskagirl (Una) has the same issue. She has very slender ankles. You could check out some of her posts.

I have skinny legs too. In my opinion, it depends on the size of the gap. I have found that booties that are more like shooties fit me better, without such a huge gap (since the top of the shoe is closer to the ankle, where there is naturally more width). I think the best thing would be to post pictures of you wearing them if you can.

When wearing booties with skirts and dresses, is it OK for there to be a gap between bootie and ankle. I have skinny legs and a gap is unavoidable
