I have several pair, and agree they don't tend to stretch, so I would advise go with the 14. It could be that only the smaller sizes run big...and it does vary by the fabric. I have cords that fit perfect in size 8, dark denim that is a touch big in size 8, and the white I got 10s! All the same Diana cut! (-: I'm usually a size 10.

Also, I pinch the waist in back, measure between the pinch points and take them to my local cleaners to have the waist taken in. I am usually also having them hemmed, so it's not an extra effort to have that done at he same time.

Oh thanks for the link, always good to see items worn in real-life and not just on a model. I see what you mean, those 6s look like they fit looser on you than the 14 does on me so you probably could've gotten the 4, but you still look great in them! I love this season of color, I keep wanting to buy more and more because I know at some point it will all shift back around into neutrals and it will be harder to buy items in these fun colors.

Hi Katherine,
I got the red Diana jeans and got a size 6. I normally wear size 4-6 but sized up in the white jeans (I was told the 4 looked too tight on me when I posted a K/R). So I went with the 6 in the red too (actually it was on sale and only the size 6 was available). I think I could have gotten away with a 4 in the red though. They didn't seem to bag out much but the 6 was a tad loose--I had to hitch it up to keep it from sliding.
I posted a pic in this thread:

Katherine -- I just tried on the Diana today (in Indigo). I was skeptical of the advice to size down, but I definitely needed to! They are especially room at the waist (even though rise is not high). Unlucky for me -- no smaller size. You know I buy everything I have to size down for!

That's exactly the info I needed, thank you so much Isis and Diana! I sent a private message to another forum member since I saw in an old thread that she had the exact same red Diana skinnies and she said the same thing that you ladies did, only size down if needed because they generally run big, but don't need to size down just to account for stretch. I'll be keeping the 14! Just gotta hem them for my 5'2" legs

My Kuts are an old style from a couple of years ago, not the Diana fit, but in my experience they all run big. I sized down an entire size (or maybe more, since I run between an 8-10 in bottoms depending on brand and my Kuts are 6). They don't stretch much, but are cut generously in the hips and thighs and have a higher rise which usually allows me to size down. I have a smaller waist, pretty flat belly, athletic thighs, and a big ol' booty, and Kuts fit me very well.

Hi Katherine, I have the Kuts in Dianna in black and in dark blue. I think the recommendation to size down is because they tend to run large, not because they stretch. I don't find that my colors stretch that much during the day. So, if the red is similar, I would keep the 14.

Don't dry them in the dryer as you'll wreck the lycra. Mine stretch a little after a couple wearings, and then go back to normal after I wash them on cold and air dry them.

You could also wear yours around the house with the tags on for the day to see if the red size 14 stretches too much.

Happy 6th birthday, YLF! So from Angie's post a couple weeks ago about the Kut from the Kloth Diana skinny in white, I bought a few pairs of the Diana jeans from Nordstrom in various colors and sizes. I definitely like the red color but am just unsure about which size I should keep since I've never owned a pair of KFTK jeans before and it seems like other threads in the forum have recommended sizing down since they'll stretch. It also seems like this can vary based on the exact style and color from KFTK though?

I am currently somewhere between a 12 and a 14 in most stores so I got both in the red from KFTK. I definitely sympathize with what Alicia wrote in this thread (http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....ons-please) about how pants for me are pretty much always tight in the front yet loose at the waist in the back...so annoying!! I hope that one day my sewing skills will be good enough that I can design a pant pattern that fixes that issue. I think it's because I have curves in both the front (belly) and the back (derriere) that are kind of offset from center. Generally though it seems like in the last few years, companies have gotten a lot better about reducing waist gaps in the back at least.

ANYWAY, so the 14 fits very comfortably, not loose but not tight, while the 12 definitely has the thing where it's cutting into my front, gives me a muffin top, and feels like the button in the front will likely wear an impression into my belly before the end of the day. But I can get it on, so should I keep the 12 anyway since it might stretch to a comfortable point? I certainly don't want baggy jeans. Or keep the 14 and if it does stretch, try to shrink it a little in the dryer? I tend to wash all my jeans inside out and hang them to dry, never machine drying any of them.

Advice from experience Kut from the Kloth wearers is much appreciated!
