I would've preferred a medium but the small will be fine with a tank top. The body is roomy and it has a cropped look, but I think that's the way it's supposed to be. I'm able to zip it. I'm usually a Medium and that's what I think I would have taken. The fabric is quilted though and a little heavier than what I wanted for the Bay Area (but very well made.) I think it runs TTS for Gap but I never had the chance to try my actual size.
