An easy way to wear a scarf when you don't want the warmth of one.</p> <p>Cardiff girl - the food was incredible and it was so nice to try the spectrum of options that Singapore has to offer.&nbsp;</p> <p>Nemosmom - I really love getting a souvenir from travels as when using the item, it brings back good memories.</p> <p>Joy - yes the bag is so pretty and interesting in the way that it catches the light.</p> <p>Mthsofthemoon - I did not go to the night safari, but I want to do that with my son who is 10 years old - so on the next family holiday to Singapore, it will be on our list of things to do. I have been to Singapore zoo (with my son) and saw the pandas, that was a complete highlight of our trip.</p> <p>Notsaf - the crab was delicious (although very messy)!</p> <p>JenniNZ - great that you have some time to shop in Changi airport. In relation to the Kate Spade shop, I found the prices to be quite high the one time (a few years ago that I checked). I would recommend before buying checking comparing the Singapore price to an online price. However, with my Bao Bao bag, the Singapore price was much cheaper (65%) of the online Shopbop price.</p> <p>MsMaven - Singapore was fabulous, the food and energy of the city is amazing. You do need to enjoy hot weather though, it is only 3 degrees off the equator, so always hot.</p> <p>Angie - you are so right about Singapore. The thing that really blew my mind is that despite the hot weather, the shops are full of winter clothing. Max Mara had knee high boots and massive coats in the windows - most likely for the northern hemisphere tourists. I could not even contemplate trying those clothes on given how hot and humid it was.</p> <p>Mainlady - thank you so much - it was a very enjoyable trip.</p> <p>Angie - glad you approve of the new pet - it is so fun and my DH who loves geometric minimal style - loves the construction and design of the Bao Bao bags.</p> <p>Jenna - thank you, I love that dress because it is perfect for hot weather, so light and airy to wear and just the ticket for Singapore.</p> <p>Sal - Perth is pretty close to Singapore, the same distance as Sydney - so we tend to go to Asian cities often living on the West Coast. I think you would enjoy a visit, it is a spectacular city and they have retained much of its colonial history. 2019 has been a real year of highs and lows for me - maybe the lows have helped me appreciate the highs even more. Really liked it both times. Have been through the airport many more times than that. Changi is an awesome airport with lots of shops and even a swimming pool you can use if there for several hours. My friend likes to walk, so most days we walked about 17kms per day - going to the gym in the morning and then walking for a few hours in the evening after work. Lucky I packed my sneakers. Our evenings were fun, popping into great bars and restaurants and walking everywhere. </p> <p>Since I had never had Singaporean chilli crab, it was determined that I needed to experience this and the place to go is Jumbo Seafood. The chilli crab was delicious and sooo messy - you can see me looking very glam in my bib and beer - the beer was essential as the chilli was pretty hot.&nbsp;</p> <p>On the evening after we ran the conference, our guests took us out to dinner. They asked my colleague if I liked to drink champagne and he said yes. I was absolutely stunned when they opened a magnum of Krug champagne and took us to a special restaurant that served peking duck. Asian hospitality is absolutely amazing and the restaurant and food was incredible, a once in a lifetime experience.</p> <p>I did not have much time to shop but stumbled upon an Issey Miyake Bao Bao bag - Iridescent Rainbow. It was love at first sight!</p> <p>Photo 1 - the view to Marina Bay sands<br />Photo 2 - View from Level 33 bar and microbrewery (we had a pre-dinner drink here)<br />Photo 3 - cooking on satay street - where we had dinner of satay sticks and lime juice. Whilst it may look like I drank lots of beer (which I did) I drank even more water and lime juice - it is a highlight of Singapore.<br />Photo 4 - the new bag!!&nbsp;<br />Photo 5 - 8 - dinner at Jumbo seafood (chilli crab in photo 8 is indeed worth the mess)<br />Photo 9 - proof that I actually travelled for work, this was popping out for lunch after an office meeting in the Arab Quarter<br />Photo 10 &amp; 11 - groovy bar on Emerald Terrace and waterside at Boat Quay<br />Photo 12 - 14 - the celebration dinner, peking duck being carved and wasabi prawns and me with the champagne.</p> <p>Most valuable travel accessory - my trusty Nike Air Max 97's. Worn on my evening walking adventures (but not with the lace dress). What I wore is in Finds. My special presentation suit I forgot to photograph, but was the navy blue pant suit and red blouse.</p> <p>What a week! I am now back home and looking forward to a few quiet (and alas work heavy months) in the lead up to the new decade - 2020 is less than 90 days away!</p>
