I haven't had trousers tailored ( I tend to err on the side of just not buying them...) but I have taken in the sides of dresses and skirts. Am considering altering some work uniform items atm.

I've had lots of pants, dresses, skirts, even shorts taken in at the waist. I usually go up one size to fit my hips and legs so it's not a drastic alteration. But clothing looks great when it's tailored exactly to fit you.

Work pants are something that NEVER fit my really hippy frame. They are either too snug to be office appropriate or are gaping in the waist and leave unsightly bunching. So, I recently decided to take matters into my own hands and try drastically altering a pair of pants down to my frame. I bought a $34 pair of wide-legged pants from ASOS 3 sizes too big, and am having them tailored down to fit me perfectly Full story/info here: http://bit.ly/WMpn3b

Has anyone else ever done this? I'm thinking of doing this with work dresses too... Would love to hear!
