I agree that it can be 'too much' fabric, though - as much as I love running my fingers over the texture of the material, the truth is that its floor length means that it can be overwhelming unless I wear it only with very fitted or thin tops. At the same time, though, I think it's important to embrace the fabric - I feel very ladylike in my skirt, because of the way it drapes &amp; hangs. I would dearly love a silver skirt and would probably favor the solid metallic if it is washable. With little people around, washable is a priority. The "Cars" movie is popular with our toddler grandson and his baby sister is just 2 months old. This means this 71 year old sits and crawls on the floor a lot. Getting up from the floor without the use of hands ( holding a baby) is a challenge. The silver skirt sounds perfect with a sweater. Consider the silver Nordstrom scarf to bookend the skirt. I am very happy with mine. Soft, drapes nicely, and not super shiny. I ordered regular size but then ordered in petite. The R small is a bit loose in waist and maybe a smidge generous through hip but I just assumed the XS might be too snug.<br /> The PS is a perfect fit in waist and hangs nicely. The good waist fit ( and nice finished waist band— not elastic, as some are) is a plus because I could actually tuck in a blouse or T( notwithstanding the welted concept) or wear a shorter top than usual. It is only a touch shorter in length, maybe an inch, but is still below knee.<br /> I am planning on keeping it! I’ve seen a lot of pics of longer pleated skirts for a true “ midi” look, but those are a lot of skirt for me, not that great with my calves somehow, and I think the below knee length will not be as intimidating to wear.<br /> No pics yet as I DH and I are keeping our grandson for a few days and so days are consumed with playtime, feeding, diapering, naps and then start all over again!<br /> There IS an element of this being for my imaginary lifestyle , but i have shoes in several heel heights, and sweaters , that go, so it’s POSSIBLE to wear and I think has longevity ( for fun) due to classic style, so I would have time to experiment with tops &amp; jackets and footwear.<br /> I also pondered the not- solid metallic—it has the black shading- as making it less versatile in some ways, but decided it’s at least as much a plus. I like the kind of sueded feel to the fabric, compared to a crinkly metallic.<br /> Thanks, Angie! Possibly this review will be of interest to others. </p>
