In fact, I usually stick to leather for this reason- my feet are wide and sometimes I need something that is stretchable if it's to fit. </p> <p>Psst, Maya- some of those shoes look amazing! I'm already lemming the Beatrice (crazy looking heel on the first "shelf") and the Phoebe (grey Oxford with stacked heel). I was afraid they would stretch in the calf because I wear them with both tights and jeans and was afraid the jeans tucked in may cause them to stretch too much to wear on their own. I have very soft synthetic flats that stretched, but stiffer synthetics probably won't. I doubt you can take it to a cobbler and ask for it to be stretched, as most cobblers are pretty old school and don't want to risk ruining the shoes and getting in trouble.</p> <p>I'm interested in trying <a href="http://www.novacas.com/">this brand</a> which claims that its materials are 100% vegan and stretch and breathe just like real leather.
