My closet organization went up quite a few notches when i ditched my mishmash of hangers and bought all of one kind - the huggable slim-line ones from Bed, Bath and Beyond. I can't begin to tell you what a difference it made in my closet. I had so much more room and the problem of clothes sometimes slipping off of their hanger completely went away! It was a miracle! I ended up tossing all my old hangers and buying a bunch of plain white plastic hangers, making sure they were all the same brand/size. It was amazing what a difference this made to the look of the closet. I did this with all of the closets in the house - it wasn't that all the closets had the same hangers, but that each closet contained hangers that were all matching in colour/size/shape. I also have matching hangers with clips or rods to hang several skirts or pairs of trousers vertically.
