This is my first, ok second (but I don't count Target shoes because they are never comfy for me) try at a low heel bootie. I have a pair of dark grey Rieker booties that are super comfy, but the look is really understated. If you can believe it, I was looking for something with a little more wow factor and a bit of a heel. I'll give Frye, Clarks and some other brands a try.

I bet the heel would be okay if the sole were a bit thicker and more cushioning. Have you checked Clarks? I saw really cute boots in the store earlier in the season.

I agree, send them back. Whatever you get has to work with your lifestyle - there's lots of choice out there, so you might as well get something just right for you.

I think this is a pretty popular look right now - I feel really confident that you should be able to find someting that looks very similar and is still comfy. Maybe try Born or Indigo/Clarks. Some shoe sites also have a "visually similar" feature, where you can search for one style, and it will show you lots of other options in the same look.

Those are cute, but no cute shoes are worth the pain when you're a hard-working mom. There are similar styles out there that are probably more comfy. Fryes are pricey but will last you forever - have you tried them?

But there are lots of stylish flat sleek boots riding boot-style available now. Like Angie's Stuart Weizmann? Perhaps look for something in that range. If you feel you can't take heels and a baby, don't feel obliged to. There are stylish flat options there ( especially boots)

Don't give up! You can find something you love that also feels fab! I also refuse to wear shoes/boots that are not comfortable, because I know I won't wear them. You deserve both - comfort and style!

Cileena... don't keep them if your feet aren't 100% happy. There are plenty of options out there for stylish and comfortable boots.
One option though that you may want to consider is to have the heel shortened by 3/8 of an inch. It will relieve that pressure on the ball of your foot and makes a huge difference, but of course is a gamble on a pair of brand new pricey shoes.

Oh Cilleena! I love those boots, too. In fact I had been eyeing them for a long while and tried them on at Nordstroms. They are very uncomfortable on my feet, too. And I said goodbye. I cant and won't wear anything that is uncomfortable. It's a waste of money and my feet rule.

I have been eyeing these, which sports a lower heel

I got some adorable booties in the mail today. These Steve Madden booties in Taupe.
http://piperlime.gap.com/brows.....=901956002
They are exactly what I was looking for...but, the heel is too high. I feel like I'm walking on the ball of my foot, my arch is stretched out too much. It's not an "uncomfortable" shoe, but I know they will probably get passed over when I get dressed in the morning because of the heel height. I can't walk around in heels with my baby on my hip. I feel ridiculous and uncomfortable. Annoying, but I unless it's a platform or lug sole, I can't do any heel. It doesn't even look all that high of a heel, but feels like it is.

I want to keep them because they look so cute, but I know I shouldn't. Not to mention that the snow is going to start flying next month and these won't be warm at all.

It's so tough to strike a balance between practical and stylish. Just last week I bought lug sole, leather Uggs...they are warm, comfy and better than the regular UGGS that look like slippers, but they aren't very cute. I had decided to return them and shop for something better, but now I'm wondering if they are actually what I need.
