I have a pair of leather Pumas that I wear all of the time. What I like about the leather sneaks is that they look a little more polished than my Cons. I think because my clothes are so RATE, the leather sneaks prevent me from looking slovenly. I'm not sure you are in the same boat but that's my 2 cents. I remember, because at the time we had the same foot size, and I kept nicking them to wear to school.&nbsp;</p> <p>Anyway, my vote is for whichever is more comfortable. They give exactly the same vibe. Another option would be Chuck Taylors, which are even more classic.</p> <p>To the point Lisa makes abut the Stan Smiths looking more polished than canvas sneakers: do you <i>want</i> polish in a sneaker? I personally don't. For me, the whole point of sneaker is that they look a little worn, like you actually <i>do</i> stuff in them. Whenever I get new Converse, I try to scuff them up a bit ASAP. (Angie would not approve!). I've been having the exact same debate -- though in my case either purchase would be new. I never thought to do a side-by-side comparison like you show though -- so you've helped me decide I like the Purcells better in white or off white. I think the longer line and tapering will be better for my shorter legs. I did see a pair of Stan Smiths somewhere in grey that I really liked though...</p> <p>In your case, I think you could wear either of these. The Stan Smiths are probably a look that's becoming more current for those who can carry it off. I don't think your existing pair are showing too much wear, BTW.
