I like the *idea* of chunky sandals, but in practice I gravitate toward lower profile ones. A fisherman style might be a bit too strappy for me; I think the simplicity of the second pair is more in keeping with my personal preferences, while the second pair is sort of at the intersection what I like and what’s trending. I love how personal styles shine through even in footwear. Interesting to see how thoroughly the chunkier Birkenstock type has become so popular. Angie/Zaeobi, interesting point about whether a shoe has to be open toe to count as a sandal. I nearly included the black ones-that-got-away (in the find) because of the side cutouts, then decided they don’t qualify. My old Pikolinos, which were stolen, do seem to me to fit the category, despite the closed toe & heel. Kyle, so glad you’ve found some that work for your feet. Hope you enjoyed the concert! The black and jade green heeled sandals are rarely worn (I think three times between them in all of 2021) but I love them both.  The gold were my new purchase of summer and got about 8 wears or so.   The other four more casual pairs all get a good amount of wear.  I am a bit sick of the black Eileen Fisher Sport Sandals but I like them with culottes or casual summer pants. I have a similar pair, plus a couple of Birkenstock Gizeh sandals. That’s the extent of my sandal collection. The clogs I wear with pants & skirts where I want a higher heel. In the past the Birkies have definitely been my most worn sandals. But my narrow, low-volume feet seem to be getting narrower and losing volume, and I’m now on the tightest hole of the Birkies strap. They need to have a close fit, otherwise, blisters! I don’t know what I’ll do if I can’t wear those anymore. Just yesterday I was bemoaning the loss (wore ‘em out) of my Josef Siebel gladiator sandals. They were olive suede and such a workhorse for me. They went with so much of my wardrobe and were so comfortable. I even went to the Siebel website to check current offerings, but nothing there caught my eye. I would duplicate in a second if I could find something similar. Every time we vacation there, we walk 5+ miles a day, around the marina & down the various walking trails. I’m hoping my Alegría sandals will hold up, as the replacement insoles are only $30 a pair. I have my Gravity Defyer walking shoes that I swear by. They’re the very first pair of lace up shoes that I have been able to wear all day. All others start to make the tops of my feet hurt. I usually go through at least one pair of sandals a year with my heavy walking.  On that note, Kyle, if you come back -- do consider Fitflop if you are struggling with plantar fasciitis. I wore those almost exclusively the summer mine was really bad and I swear they cured me -- the microwobbleboard version, which has a similar sole to the shoe you shoes.  What I've got now. Lots, right? Right.  The Fitflops are obviously ultra-casual -- I wear them mostly around home and on walks in my suburban neighbourhood. The hibiscus Eccos are also casual and I wear those for similar situations. The grey Eccos are hiking sandals, exclusively.  The silver Eccos were a sale purchase that I didn't have much hope for, but they have turned out to be useful.  The others are my "dressier" sandals at the moment, (although the Sorels are casual, too, their high platform means I don't wear them as often on my ordinary days.)  I may not need to buy a new pair this summer but knowing me, I'll add a pair.  LaPed on "Show us your sandals!" https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/show-us-your-sandals#post-2256860 Sun, 27 Mar 2022 14:43:33 +0000 LaPed 2256860@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ I'm currently at two pairs: Bedrocks for sport/everyday wear, and these black Tikkis (Czech barefoot brand) for slightly nicer. The Bedrocks definitely get the most wear. Even if I bought a second pair, they'd still get the most wear. That's just the nature of how I spend my summers. I have to be careful not to add too many cute "town clothes", because the reality is I'm in gear most of the time so the rest of my stuff lasts a looong time. I'd love to add a closed toe/fisherman style this summer, and have couple in mind to try (see photos). Oh -- I also have Crocs slides that I wear to the pool once a week! Well, recently I found a new-to-me brand called Bzees, and I’ve been encouraged by their comfort. Just ordered these sandals and wore them for the first time to a neighborhood get together last night. I was thrilled to be out of sneakers and wearing something that felt a bit more fashionable. May try them again today when my son and I go to the symphony. Bzees is a Naturalizer company and their shoes are available at Macy’s and a broad range of other retailers, including Amazon. They are incredibly lightweight, washable, and cushiony. If so, here are mine x4, L-R: #1: Hush Puppies', no idea lol (can't find this model online - closest is photo #2?): the slight lift & uniformly light gold makes these surprisingly useful for 'smart casual' (i.e. work & skirts), despite the white soles. #2: *FitFlop's Heda snake print back-strap sandals, in Blush: The unexpected MVP workhorse - I was initially unsure about the snake print, but it blends in enough for some 'subtle' pattern mixing. Wear everywhere (casual & work) but with trousers/ long skirts. #3: *FitFlop's Heda snake trim back-strap sandals, in Black: Same as above + HEWI because of the black & cream (not white) combo. Not worn since purging black from my main closet in January 2022, so will move to my Black UK Capsule Wardrobe #4: *FitFlop's Sola feather slides, in Rose gold: Not so practical but bought for easy putting on & taking off in people's houses/ places of worship etc - which hasn't been happening due to COVID... They're a little delicate ( see the 'leaves') & not in a shade I wear, but are just 'nude adjacent' enough on me to work for dressy occasions. Will also pick up the yellow gold pair (photo #6) when I'm next back home in the UK --- I posted my big *FitFlop haul last summer - most of these are still going strong from there They still work well for my slightly wide forefoot (D width) yet narrow heel, medium arches & high instep (tend to swell during the day, especially in summer). I especially like the padding at the strap joints on the Hedas - no uncomfortable rubbing! Just be aware that some of FitFlop's 'wobble' styles have a slightly narrower heel on the soles compared to the heel shape in the footbed - they're supposed to 'train' the leg muscles but really they're just a bit of a tripping hazard (for a klutz like me at least, lol...) Almost all of my shoes are Alegría, a brand that my fussy feet love. We’re moving to the tropics, so besides 2 pars of Gravity Defyer athletic walking shoes & a pair of Birkenstock flip flops, this is everything I have. Let me add that Alegría insoles can be replaced. They usually cost $30 per pair. I Your clog sandals are my faves :) I'll preface by saying that I am generally not a sandal wearer - and never have been (despite living in HOT Asia and Africa for more than 30 years). I prefer closed toe shoes for many reasons. Open heels are fine, but I like closed toes! That said, occasionally I venture into sandals. I am VERY hard to fit for them though. I need them in a narrow or double narrow width, and preferably Italian (those are usually the only sandals that fit and work because they are narrower).  I have a soft spot for the refined classics! Gladiators and cage sandals usually. I also like huaraches and fisherman styles, and have worn them in the past.  I found these Italian sandals in narrow sizes and they fit very well, and are comfy. I HOPE they will work for my walking lifestyle. I never really know until I road test them. I don't wear nail polish, but keep my feet well groomed and moisturized. I wear clear polish sometimes! That makes me gulp, because I didn’t realize it’s that time of year already! Searching for sandals is always crazy, because that word encompasses so many things, dressy and casual, super-high heels and completely flat slides. Fabbers have been fab in helping me pick some in recent years. Now I’m curious: what sandals do you have? Which are your favorites, and which get the most use with long and short skirts and pants? Will you show us? Mine, except for a rarely-worn pair of slides (can’t run in them), are in finds here. I don’t differentiate which go with which type of garment.
