Cole are by far my favorites--they are so comfy and very nice looking. </p> <p>The Roxy plaid sneakerish shoe is a keeper, but not as comfy as I had hoped. One shoe in particular squishes my pinky toe, but they are fabric and I'm going to wear them with socks around the house to see if I can stretch that a little bit. I'd give them an 8 for comfort. I could wear them shopping or running errands, if I wasn't going to be on my feet straight. I was hoping they would be go to comfortable. Last night I went out to a bookstore and then dinner. The most walking I did was from the car to the restaurant, and we were parked sort of far away. Part of the reason I got these shoes is because I have 2 other pairs of Kenzie shoes that make the 8 hour mark, but they are both flat and one of them are boots so I don't have to worry about them falling off.</p> <p>Buying a size smaller won't work. It would be too tight across the front. My shoes usually don't have any visible gapping in the back or on the sides but for some reason they fall off anyway. I think they would stay on if the back of most shoes came up a bit higher. I like thong sandals that are not flipfloppy--more refined and sandalish. (I think I'm making up a few words here...) Anyway, about the ones with the cutouts... If you really like them and want to keep them, maybe you could make a template of the cutouts on a piece of thin cardboard or thick paper. Then transfer that to the heel insert, and using an exacto knife cut out the cutouts from the insert.
