Hi all…circling back to say the dress is going back. The neckline is less than optimal for me, regardless of any fit issues/non-issues. I appreciate all your on-point observations and suggestions.

Lisa (LJP) no worries!

Looks like a versatile dress that can cover all seasons and multiple occasions. I don't see any fit issues in the photos.

It's a versatile dress, easy to wear in multiple ways, as you say. I think the shoulder fit is fine. If you can try a size up, I might do that just for comparison. Sometimes that can work even if your suspicion is that it will be too. big -- it might give just enough extra ease to make the dress feel more "shifty" than "sheath-like" if you know what I mean.

Another consideration -- how is it with hose? If you will be wearing it with hose, make sure the fabric doesn't cling to them in an irritating way.

My comment was awkward , sorry . I am looking at it from a garment construction viewpoint and the comments about the high
-ish neckline supported my point that the body of the dress sits up a little high on you …..creating extra volume at the armhole / bust . Anyways - it’s the dress , not you ;). And I hear you re : that’s as high as it gets , lol.

It looks like a very close fit in the top all over — under the arm, and the top of the sleeve, etc. The stock photos show it with just a little more ease, which would be my preference. The color in the stock photo is really nice.

The most important thing is your comfort. I’ve never found an item to become less itchy or less irritating after I’ve had it on a while.

The left upper arm looks a bit odd in pic 3? Not in the other pics, can you comment?
Other than that, I think it looks lovely on you. The crew neck is rather high though.

I like the look of it on you. But it's interesting that you mention the neckline. I wondered about it, because it's something that can bug me. I prefer my crew-necks high, but this one looks to fit more closely than what I find comfortable.

Lisa…heh, that’s my good bra and the girls have no more lift in them.

Angie…yes, neat and tidy. Thanks for the assessment.

I spent some time styling the dress and am mostly happy with it…except…the neckline started to get itchy and felt constricting. I’m going to have to think on this. It’s super hot here today, which doesn’t help.

Looks perfect in the pics, Aquamarine! Great shift dress, which looks navy on my screen.

I don't see pulling anywhere in #1. Set-in-sleeve looks very neat and tidy :)

Good job nabbing a perfect dress in advance so you have it ready to go when you want to wear it.

Here's my observation, and take it for what it's worth to you: It's not the shoulder , but rather the bust /underarm area . Can you try it with another bra that might give you a little more lift, if you know what I mean?

Not quite sapphire blue (actually called “lido blue”), but this dress came today and I’m wondering if the shoulder fit looks okay. I have broad shoulders and while the dress fits fine everywhere else, the shoulders are cut in further than I am used to. It’s stretchy (and heavy!) so movement is not a problem.

Purchased because the sale price was tempting (I had quite a few Nordstrom notes also) and I need a “just-in-case” dress for cooler weather since I’ve edited out many dresses the last few years. Seems like it would be versatile and could be dressed up or down. But…opinions welcome!
