That held true when I looked at the full screen images, with the simplicity of 3 my out and out favourite. The pink makes a strong statement and I think the grey top and shoes provide a subtle foil to it. Proportion seems to be key. I'll try lengthening it about an inch; I can do that with the fabric that's there. I held it up to my other short skirts, and lo and behold, it's about an inch to 1 1/4" shorter!<br /><br />Beth Ann, your point about the bright color is a good one. Brights do make me feel quite visible, and I think the bright color on bottom especially is a little disconcerting to me. Lookeee here, world! Here are my hips! I bought the fabric with the intention of using it to test a pattern, and then didn't end up using it for that. I got the idea to make it into a pencil skirt when I posted a WIW with my navy lace hoody and a gray midi slim skirt, and received suggestions for more color in the outfit, a shorter skirt, and a more fitted skirt. <br /><br />This skirt is pretty far from my comfort zone. The color is not one I usually wear. AND I'm not really all that comfortable in pencil skirts, though I used to wear them when I dressed up more for work. The slim skirts I have are just straight, not tapered at the bottom like this one. While I don't feel too fab in the straight skirts, I'm a little self-conscious in a close-fitting pencil skirt. (And why is that?? I wear skinny pants; isn't a pencil skirt pretty much a skirt version of skinnies?) <br /><br />So, here it is, and I'm wondering, is it at all my style? Or do I look like I'm trying to be someone else?&nbsp; If it is "me," does it go with any of these things? Or might I wear it some other way? <br /><br />If I don't wear this skirt, it will be a perfectly fine sample for my sewing classes, so nothing lost!
