Several people on ylf have me too er relationships with shopkeepers who reserve things in their sizes, or notify them when something they’d like comes in. You’re not a particularly odd size that I can see? Quite petite maybe... not sure of your height.<br /> Otherwise I would just brazen it out. That’s what I do, I march on in to stores I’ve never bought in to look at the racks and get ideas. They never know if I’m going to buy or not, so unless they’re going to look at me in a snooty “Pretty Woman” sort of way “It’s VERY expensive” then I feel I have a right to be there. I don’t know if they can tell I’m a tightwad the minute I walk in. I hope not, because lots of my clothes are good brands that start off expensive but I get at their outlets or on very good sales! I do find the occasional SA just can’t seem to help that sort of snooty look. It’s the difference between “Can I help you?” actually meaning can I help you or meaning stop rifling through my racks if you’re not going to try or buy anything. And if they’re the latter it really puts me off. It’s their problem. I have been known to pay $350 for a dress or boots ( to be fair maybe once each!!) so I could do it again. I don’t wear a sign on my forehead?<br /> Sounds like you love the ethos of this store. It’s in the window of a shop whose windows I love, but they never have my size. It’s leopard print with an asymmetric tiered skirt and a bit of ruffle. I don’t have much cause for such a dress and it’s raining<br /> and the dress is not one that will keep you warm, but it has both edge and frilliness, sorta up my alley. And it probably won’t work for me, knowing this shop... how many times can you go in and strike out before you’re just being embarrassing? I also have a thing about not spending money until I’ve written my cheque to the IRS, which I will not do until the very last moment, lol... </p>
