I really liked the color - the crummy cell phone pix aren't the best representation.

Is it me or am I more of a spanner in 2012? It's not a conscious thing - just the way it's working out I guess! I hope NOT to be crowned Queen Spanner.

I forgot to mention that the jacket would look great un-zipped, Rae. Go back for sure, especially since you are wearing a skirt today.

Wow, Angie comes through with a different verdict! I am wearing a skirt today, so will go back after work today and have another look. Thankfully there were two in my size last night, so it will hopefully still be there.

Angie has a point and so does Shannon. I would think it would work better left open, and with skirts or dresses? Maybe there's just too much trouser overshadowing the jacket!

Good grief that's a gorgeous colour on you Rae - I like the cropped style and the fit is pretty good - I would just wear it open.

This is a KILLER item (suede jacket) to add to your work wear capsule. It reflects your style persona in a professional way, which is not an easy accomplishment. It's cropped nature makes it ideal for frocks, skirts and especially midis.

I would think harder about snapping up this jacket.

I like this but don't love it on you. And especially on pieces that stick around longer such as jackets and blazers, I think they should be "wow" pieces. I vote hold for something better.

Rust is an awesome color on you (if you didn't already know...) and there are some very cool details on this jacket. But something about the fit seems off to me in a very hard-to-pin-down way. Or maybe it's not fit, but proportions. It is very short, and it could be the combo with the high-waisted pants that does it? But I'm sure I'll be in the minority. There's a lot to like about it, but good that you're proceeding with caution considering the refund policy...

Not overwhelming love, so I won't break my neck to go back for now. Exchanges only, so that is a big factor. If I can go back and try it with a skirt, I'll do so. Thanks, everyone! It's hard for me to walk away from a deal, and you all really helped with the shaky palms and chills, lol.

You need to try it with a different bottom before you'll know. These pants are so wrong with this jacket it is hard to see past that. I like the lapel too and the color is great. Can you return it if you find it doesn't work? I vote for you to buy and try:)

I don't think your perky young girls look sad, but sometimes suede and leather jackets can have a flattening effect if they don't have darts or princess seams. It looks great in pic 1 and just a little wrinkled (from packing maybe?) in the second picture. Snaps are fine, I think.

I really like the cropped length for dresses and skirts, the color seems good and I could totally see you styling this piece all up! Is it new? IOW, can you return it if you bring it home and it doesn't play well? Seems good for work wear to me!

I don't like where I think the rivets for the pockets are placed. Yes it's cheap, but not worth it.

Okay, now that I'm off my iPhone, I see that there are additional pictures that I wasn't initially able to view. In the second photo, it looks like there's some pulling between the buttons?

The "nipple" thing didn't occur to me, though, and I think your girls look great in pic #1 - it's just the pulling in #2 that's making me do a double-take.

I love cropped jackets and think this can work with pants and skirts, but you'll need to find the proportions that work with you. I commonly wear cropped jackets that short with pants, but my tops are much longer, like tunic length!

And LOL at the nipple comment -- that didn't occur to me at all

I like the color and cropped length a lot. I can see this working in your bus-cas wardrobe as long as you're pairing it with dressier pieces.

Real suede, $52. I was all set to get it, but then looked at the pics on my phone. I would wear with skirts, so it may be that the pants are making it seem too short. Not sure.

Fits like a second skin, and I like how the lapels stay flipped open. Would want to wear with button-front shirts and pencil skirts for work. Concerns: is rust suede too casual? And are the snaps of the pockets placed so far up that they look like nipples? o_0

ETA pic of faux leather jacket for comparison... I think Rita may be right about the rust making my girls look sad.
