Yes I could wear it to work in but I'm having similar thoughts Angie & needed other opinions. It was perfect for my trip but I don't know when I will have another beachy trip. It probably isn't a London or UK dress or even NY. Perhaps the Hamptons but I don't go there. I just thought I needed it because it was just what I needed at the time. I like it better than the peach coloured one. I'm going to try to return the peach one. It is an LA designer, Clover Canyon but probably for the beach only. I could use the money for other things. I just don't know what to wear when it is hot though. I mean when it is too hot for pants. I like mod dresses but they feel too city & slick for my lifestyle near home, unless I'm going out in Hollywood or Beverly Hills or NY.

These dresses are for extremely casual settings in my mind, Elle. I'm not sure whether it will be a workhorse for you. I guess that depends on your lifestyle. You could wear this to work in with sandals I guess - or not?
I have realized I'm leaning a little less boho lately but it hasn't been the weather for my boho clothes. I borrowed this dress from a friend in Australia while looking for some to buy. It was a workhorse on that trip. It is super light weight, non-creasing & although it is maxi it has a split up the side which allows for some leg to be seen. I'm unsure because it doesn't look like anything I have pinned on my board http://pinterest.com/lovlealea.....eal-to-me/ of what I am drawn to, but I haven't seen anything like it on pinterest either. My style icons are Emmanuelle Alt, who is always in pants & that is too hot sometimes & Kate Moss, who wears cut offs when it is hot, which I don't want to do all the time, like not away from the beach or a local festival, and maybe not even there. So my icons don't wear what I want to wear when it is really hot.

The first pics are of the one I want to buy that I wore in Australia.
The second pic is the one I did buy when I couldn't find this one. It is probably past the return date but is unworn with tags so I can try. I could keep both given what a workhorse the blue one was but I think the blue one is less resorty & boho which I prefer. It would have been good to have both on my Australia trip as they would be fine for the beachy travel. I'm not planning any beachy travel soon. If I go anywhere in the Summer it will be the UK. I couldn't wear either to an outdoor wedding in the UK right? I mean I probably have something better for a wedding. I still have drapey but fitted dresses to show you all, that I bought in Australia, that are dressier, can be dressed down & up & are more city appropriate. I wouldn't want to throw them on all the time though like I did with the galaxy stained glass print one, too much dry-cleaning, which isn't easy traveling. I'm wondering if it would be as much of a workhorse when not traveling due to the print making it stand out so much that I wouldn't want to keep wearing it. I find plain colours stand out just as much unless they are dark, which I'm trying not to do in Summer.

I guess I need to decide if it will be a workhorse when not traveling. When creasing & weight isn't an issue. Or when traveling to places where I wouldnt wear it. Could I wear the blue one in NY? If you like it for me should I keep both or do the different prints create a different look? I prefer the blue one & I was desperate to buy one of my own, knowing I had to give this one back. It's just that lately I'm trying to define my style & to be honest I would have walked past it in a store. I don't buy prints. It is just that I had nothing to wear for hot weather & my friend suggested I try it on. I thought that even though it is nothing like what I own it is perfect for beach travel.
