Your handbags came with a cloth cover? Oh my, I must buy cheap...

I have a dust allergy, so I have started keeping my shoes in clear plastic bags, to make them easily visible. I don't close the bags and let the shoes air out overnight before storing them in the morning, to guard against humidity. Perhaps a variation of that would work for purses. I like the idea of protecting them from dust, but not being unable to see them.

Dust, UV rays and changes in temperature and humidity can affect both leather and canvas. The dust bag helpst o protect a bag from two of the four. It can be surprising how much UV light, even from windows in a bedroom, can affect a bag and change the colour of the portion exposed to the light. Many people who have enomous, walk-in closets actually have the window shades drawn at all time so that their clothing and bags are exposed only to temporary artificial light and do not need to be kept hidden or covered.

After viewing (and aahhhing) a portion of Angie's closet shown in her post today, I began to wonder if it is okay to store my handbags on the shelf without the cloth cover that came with them? Seems like it protects them more from dust?
