I am very short in the waist too, and I am 5'2". Brands that work for me are Anthropologie, WHBM, Halogen, and Caslon. I don't have much luck with Loft, but that could be more that their clothing is generally a relaxed fit and runs big, so the waist always seems to be too low.

I have the same problem due to back issues. I have had good luck with Caslon, Halogen ,Ann Taylor and WHBM. Sometimes Anthropologie and Talbots. It really depends on the style of the tops.

Have you ever tried GAP petites?
I can wear petites and regular sizes, but the few times I have tried a petite size that has been return to the store, it's small.
I think they actually may really size some of it differently. the pant rise is def shorter

Agree about JCrew running long in the torso but this may work if you are large-busted.

Ann Taylor is reliable. Loft sometimes runs a little short as does Eddie Bauer.

I'm short waisted also and agree with the recommendations here. Talbots is inconsistent - I often find their tops and sweaters too long but sometimes the jackets are ok. Eileen Fisher is ok too except you really have to try them on, they do all kinds of boxy and/or tunic styles so it really depends on the garment. Similar comment for Antropologie (which carries a lot of different brands)

I'm petite but have a long torso, and I find petite sized tops at Ann Taylor, LOFT, Banana Republic to often be too short in the body so they may work for you. Halogen sometimes too.

J.Crew petites work pretty well for me, at least in their buttondown shirts, so I wouldn't recommend them to you.

I have a long torso and can never wear White House Black Market well. Always too short. They have petites as well. They may work for you.

I am short waisted, as well. I find that petite sizes in Banana Republic, JCrew, Gap, Halogen, Caslon, and Ann Taylor all fit me very well for jackets and sweaters.

Hi! After a significant weight loss, I can finally shop some of the petite brands. I have a very short torso, my waistline sits at the top of my hip bone, and my bottom rib is about an inch & a quarter up from there. Some of the petite lines I've tried don't seem petite at all. Petite, as in half-size (short torso). The closest I have come to a correct fit is Ann Taylor. What other brands cut a similar torso, or one even shorter? Thank you!
