Love everyone's ideas for you!! I have a short waist but I am tall. Can't wait to see what you find as you try things out. Definitely give cropped or shorter length tops/sweaters a go.

I echo the wise and helpful comments and suggestions above! :)

This looks like a great proportional mix for your petite height. Keeping the sweater shorter makes a big difference. It visually lengthens the leg line, and adds structure to the outfit by hinting at a waist.

i think you're on point to try a slightly cropped sweater over a dress. That way you don't have to worry about where the waist actually hits you and can adjust that visual line to your liking. Its a good way to winterize a warm weather dress, too. You can keep trying sweaters until you like the proportions, or you can tuck up a longer sweater to get the same effect.

I am another short-torsoed person who loves this look. For me the challenge is finding a skirt that ‘sits’ at the correct spot and doesn’t migrate up to my chest or end up where it bisects my belly.

I'm 5'2" with a short torso and I find this formula actually quite easy to wear. A "cropped" sweater will hit just above my hip bones. I'll look for a low rise skirt, which will be mid-rise on me and hit around the bellybutton (or, a skirt with some elastic in the waist). A skirt marketed as knee length will often be midi on me - 26" is my sweet spot. I don't like to tuck so I leave the sweater loose and just make sure it has a slightly boxy cut.

But that's me. What exactly feels "off" when you try this look? Maybe we can help you troubleshoot.

Sort of feel like these proportions are made for the short of torso. High-waisted midi with cropped sweater.

I'm really in love with this aesthetic, but my torso is super short (and I'm 5'3). Skirts have always been a pain no matter what the length. How exactly would I go about pulling off midi skirts with sweaters? I was thinking I could just wear a dress, but I think it's more the length of the sweater that confuses me. Any suggestions?
