I ended up dressing an exchange student for prom as a rocker. He had skinny black pants, I got a black shirt and black vest to wear over it instead of a jacket. He wore heavy metal chains around his neck and was very happy with the way he looked. He owns one collared shirt and only wears it when pushed (usually by me!) This is his senior year of high school, and he announced Monday after school that he’s going to Prom on Friday. Evidently his friends have been after him to go for a few weeks, and he finally said yes. He’ll go with a group of boys and girls. </p> <p>Anyway, he and I went shopping this evening for a sport jacket, dress shirt, and new jeans, and I’m delighted with the result. He picked everything himself. I snapped the pics (with his permission) when he put it on to show my husband.</p> <p>I’ll have to do some emergency tacking up of the sleeves and jeans hems; we’ll have them professionally altered after Prom and before graduation. </p>
