Next year is so far away. You have to live for the now. Treat yourself to TX weather items if they tickle your fancy. Life is too short.

You will LOVE the PNW weather. Boots and toppers year round. Although you may miss your sandals and curse the rain.

What rachylou said, and start collecting chiles and recipes because north of Santa Fe you are on your own as far as Tex-Mex. Utah has soCal style Mexican, no fire at all, unless you eat from the taco trucks. The only thing I miss about Houston is the food scene. Portland has one, but salmon tacos with blackberry salsa only gets you so far.

If it's truly the Oregon coast and not Portland, don't buy anything. The coast is SUPER casual.

Ok, what I think you could do is check out the weather patterns for a whole year in Oregon, and fashion bloggers in Oregon and stuff, and then maybe you could start up your purge again and put together a little starter capsule for Oregon.

It would be a super fun project in my book anyways...

What about focusing on things that you can layer? I don't wear tanks or sleeveless tops a lot on their own, but I wear them a lot for layering. They help with the "warm outside, air conditioned inside" problem, although I suspect you have a much more significant differential in TX than here in OR!

My family is hoping to make a big move in the next year (Texas to Oregon coast). So I don't want to buy stuff for HERE - I am so sick of buying for broiling summers! But I can't really buy stuff for THERE because, well, I'm not THERE yet. Worse, I am frozen in purging, because what I barely wear HERE might be perfect for THERE. (Those boots and coats I don't wear? Perfect for rainy days!)

I think I need to just stop buying, period, unless all of my underwear suddenly goes on strike. Then I can splurge on what I need when I get THERE. But I do love to buy things...
