Ola, I avoid empire seams completely. It's difficult to do because so many cute tops have it.

I love the orange top--very cheerful and versatile. I could see it under a cardi when the weather is cool, or solo in the heat.

If the white cardi has that same empire seam--then I'd return it also. Empire seams that fall across the bust stick out like sore thumbs. To me, it's like seeing a woman in a pair of sandals with her big toe hanging over the edge.

As for the jeans...I like them, but the rise looks a little low on the first pair. You may need to be extra careful about the length of your tops with those jeans.

Ola, the jeans look nice! I like the color of the two tops, but I agree with the consensus above that the empire line is not right. If the cardi has the same line, you might need to reconsider it as well if the line doesn't fall under your bust. I really like the white cardi on you, but fit is important too.

Thank you all for your input! I think I'll return the raspberry shirt. It's too bad, because I was trying to find some more colourful tops, but I suspect I wouldn't wear it much if that line made things look funny anyway. I'm a DD cup, so I have this problem with a lot of shirts, unfortunately. Perhaps I'll look for a different style in a similar colour.

The cardi actually has a similar line in pretty much the same spot, I really need to take a better photo of it to ask you all if that's bad too. Or is it different because I'll rarely be buttoning up a cardi?

I love the colour of the red top (raspberry is one of my favourites) but it's possible that line will drive you crazy after a while. I'm wearing a PJ cami with the same issue right now, and even though I only wear it for lounging and sleep, that line drives me a bit batty. I don't even understand why they design tops that way... I don't have a large bust, so I can't imagine who they meant to be wearing this. Gah! All the rest of your stuff is cute. I particularly like the cardigan.

I agree with Maya. I like everything other than red top. I believe that the seam should hit you right under the bust.

I like the orange top and white cardi, and the jeans both fit well. The red one I'm not into. That seam is supposed to sit under the bust, not across. i think it's supposed to be an empire waist, but it's not quite working to me.

Ola, it seems that you had a successful shopping trip. Both jeans look great to me, and you're right about the shoes that go with them.

Both tops look cute, I don't think the first one make you look pregnant at all. The second one looks great under the cardi, it's a great layering piece IMO.

Love the cardi, very versatile.

So we did a marathon (for me) shopping trip yesterday. Halfway through I started to worry that I wouldn't find anything good to buy, but I did end up getting a few things. I have to admit that shopping is a stressful event for me, as I have a hard time finding things that fit properly and even then I'm not certain if I made the right choice. I hope you can give me some input!

The first pair of jeans, I was thinking they'd be good for flat shoes?
http://s266.photobucket.com/al.....CF1767.jpg
http://s266.photobucket.com/al.....CF1769.jpg

Second pair, these are longer so I was hoping they'd be good with a medium heel? These sit just on top of my hip bones.
http://s266.photobucket.com/al.....CF1770.jpg
http://s266.photobucket.com/al.....CF1772.jpg

Orange top - it's loose around the waist, is that ok? DH says it looks like a pregnancy shirt...
http://s266.photobucket.com/al.....CF1773.jpg

This top is kind of raspberry coloured (the colour is more true in the first photo). But it has a line across the chest, which you can see better in the second photo. Does it look ok, or should I return it?
http://s266.photobucket.com/al.....CF1774.jpg
http://s266.photobucket.com/al.....CF1775.jpg

And my final purchase, a cropped white cardi. It has a little tie at the top and buttons all the way down. Sorry about the fuzzy photo!
http://s266.photobucket.com/al.....CF1776.jpg
