Not the boys section... but I have picked up a bunch of tops / shirts meant for 10-12 yr old girls. A lot of my crop tops & cropped sweatshirts are from there (well, they are normal length tops for girls & cropped for me!)

Great sweatshirt!!

My favorite button-front cotton shirts are from the boys' department at Target. For some reason the arms are the perfect length, and there is no bustal gappage. Score!!

That sweatshirt is really cute! And I'd never think it came from the boys' department.

I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I actually recently bought this t-shirt: http://www.shopjustice.com/gir.....ort=eyJzaG. I've got a strange thing for pigs and saw it in a window. I happened to be with my mother-in-law, who suggested we go in and see if they had it in my size. I kind of assumed they wouldn't because, well, tween store, but figured why not. Turns out that kids' 18 actually works, so now I have a bright yellow piglet shirt. Don't plan on wearing the plaid arm socks, though.

Other than that, I think the only thing I have from the kids' department is glittery black flats from the girls' section at Target. I think I'm generally sized out except for shoes.

I used to shop the boys section, especially at Old Navy, for pants. I could get a slim fit in cargos when women's had too much volume through the hips.
I have a favorite graphic tee in a men's small from Target. It has length and fluid fit even after being washed and machine dried. I have heard that boots are much less expensive from the children's department but doubt they come big enough for my feet.

I love the sweatshirt! No I can't shop the kids dept, sadly the size of my chest precludes it:(. I could however buy girls shoes as I have small feet (but I don't).

At 5'8" I cannot shop the kids or juniors sections...but my dd prefers the way boys sweats and T's fit her over girls as she has a long torso and finds the girls stuff too short.
That is a great sweatshirt!

That is adorable!
It's funny you should say this. I seem to have short arms for my proportions. My grandmother always said that when she measured me for sewing. It doesn't make much difference except that jackets and coats often look oversized on me. Last week I found a jean jacket and a simple black windbreaker hoodie, both from the boys' section and the proportions are perfect. So yes, I will check the boys' and girls' section more closely from now on!

I have bought at Zara children section, mainly flats. The tees have children designs, like dogs, cats or phrases and that is a problem to me

I have a soft spot for words on tees and sweatshirts that are sort of random. It reminds me of growing up in Japan where there was an almost poetic use of barely meaningful Engrish … everywhere.

Having said all of that I am feeling a bit old to pull these things off anymore. But you young thing will rock this sweatshirt!!!

So to get to your question -- do I shop in the boys department?

No. Things don't fit me. I think I'm just a bit too big all over for the boys sizes. 10 pounds less, and not being an hourglass -- it might work.

Juniors clothing is another matter. It fits me better (no kidding) than women's clothing. I think because the sizes 3-5-7 that I can wear are scaled for a shorter female. Waists fall at the right place and the jacket sleeves aren't as long. But the quality is too low for me, and the styles can be too young (obviously) so I might only buy something like a tee or a pair of jeans from juniors.

I always walk through the kids' section just in case. :)

So far from the boys' dept. I have a rugby long sleeve and 2 plaid long sleeves. From the girls' section I have a faux fur vest and white Zara sneaks with gold studs.

I just bought this adorable sweatshirt from the Zara boys' section. I don't usually go for cute phrases on clothes but I loved this one. The 13-14 is the perfect slouchy fit. I might return it if I decide I've spent too much recently, but it's cute.

I feel like this is opening up a whole new vista for me. Kids' clothes are cheap. Sometimes that's reflected in the quality, but sometimes not. Zara children's clothing seems to be trendy and reasonably made. The sweatshirt is all cotton, not synthetic, which is becoming hard to find for women's clothing but easier with boys' (maybe because it's sturdier?).

I realize this is not an option for most sizes. The kids' sections of some brands like Gap extend up to a kids' 18, and I'm usually a 14, so that probably means it works for grown-up sizes 0 through 4 or 6. Zara only goes up to 14.

Have you shopped in the kids' section? Any favorite finds? Or in the men's section - it doesn't always work for me because the sleeves are way too long, but I do steal shirts from my boyfriend.
