Thanks so much, Guys! I have found many charity shops. I actually have found some great ones here in Canterbury, where we are now. I even found a tiny one in East Finchley near London when I went to see Mark Kermode's favourite cinema.

Laura (rhubarbgirl) - I went to Portobello Road! It was very cool, but unfortunately the on;y good thing I found was a tiny old fashioned key. Other things seemed too pricey and they seemed to specialise more in antiques than clothing. Or else they were vintage and too pricey.

Karin L H - Thank you! Unfortunately by the time I got internet we were out of London and too late to check out this great suggestion.

approprio - Thank you for your help! I have been checking into every charity shop I come across. I hope to draw some of my finds and post them soon.

Love,
LR

Seconding Brick Lane. Check out Blitz London close by.

Looks like you've missed Clerkenwell Vintage Fair, which is one of my favourites.

I also recommend checking out charity shops in rich neighbourhoods. They often have good stuff.

I highly recommend East London, the area on Brick Lane! Lots of vintage places there. Closest tube is Liverpool Street, then it's a bit of a walk, but not too far at all, and you pass Spitafields market on the way which is one of my favourite markets!

A few years ago we went to the Portobello Road Market and there was a secondhand shop on one of the side roads - no clue what the name of the shop or the road was, but it was on the way from the tube station to the actual Portobello Road itself. I remember I bought a pair of shoes and they had cute stuff. Not near St. Paul's but definitely transit accessible.

Do you know about TRAID? I've never been there but I read someone's blog who used to work for them. http://www.traid.org.uk/shop-at-traid/

Hi Guys! I am still in London for a couple of days. I know a lot of you are Brits and I was wondering if you have any tips for good second hands for poor university students. I am staying near St. Paul's, but have easy access to public transport.

Please let me know if you have any good ideas! Thanks:)
