Jessikams, I know what you mean about the inside of high-low dresses! It drives me a little nuts too, but they are so flattering that I can overlook the quirk. But honestly, I’m rarely standing around in that model pose to show so much of the inside skirt anyway, right?

Thanks, all! Even though it is more items than I wanted to buy in a single month, somehow it doesn’t feel excessive because of the replacement aspect of what I got in the jeans and sneakers and even the boots, and these are all very practical pieces — nothing “fantasy lifestyle” here at all.

I would still like to add a good color top or two for summer — something in one of my good teal, turquoise or cobalt shades, if I find the right thing. But there is absolutely zero in the stores around here, so I have to resort to online ordering, which I get impatient with.

And I’m also narrowing down my sandal search — whatever I decide on will count towards April purchases.

Love that dress especially! But shorts shopping is The Worst Worse than bikini shopping cause they always have pockets that don't lay flat-plus all the same fit problems as pants....Ugh!

That all looks great! This is also a shopping time of year for me.

I like the Tommy Bahama dress, but it bugs me that manufacturers don’t handle the high-low hem well. I want some print or color on the inside of the skirt, so it doesn’t just look like “here is the inside of the skirt fabric.” Know what I mean? I’m trying to just get over it, as it is so prevalent and that cut is so flattering.

I think these are great additions - I really like the jeans and I love the boots. I will be hoping to get something similar in a couple of months - the fact there is no metal is appealing to me as it makes them subtle interesting and versatile.

I am on track for the year but did add five items in March. I think one may be a mistake - and it was from a curated charity shop so cannot be returned. At $30 even if I never wear it - it was a donation to the hospice.

MsMaven, I never even saw that waistband description — LOL. They seem like normal waistbands to me, but I think it just means that they are made to stretch, like the rest of the jean, so the waist doesn’t feel binding. They don’t have visible elastic inserts or anything like that. They are quite comfortable.

Lisa, I think the stock photo of those shorts doesn’t do them justice — I like them so much, I’m considering getting the camp version. I like that I can leave them unrolled for the perfect length (for me). Shorts are always hard!

Cute dress - and I know it will look terrific on you . Love the Frye boots. I haven't bought a single thing for spring - nothing really catching my eye yet. And......I'm ok with that. When I do get some time to shop in a few weeks, I'll probably do a big blowout and leave it at that. Shorts are definitely on my list too - and I"m considering buying with the intent to alter. I have never been able to find shorts to fit the way I want , and although it seems silly to spend money altering them, I do wear them all the time in summer (as in, every single day) so figure it might be worth the $ to get them to actually fit properly.

Janet, what does "elasticated waistband" mean on the DL1961s? Sounds like it might work for me with my belly. The jeans look great, but I'm not curvy except for my belly. Also my size was full price! Hope you got the better deal.

Well, I purchased more in March than my goal limit of four items per month, but it is a month when I typically buy in preparation for the warmer weather ahead. I expect April and May will not be buying months because I will be traveling some of that time.

I did manage to replace some old jeans -- several pairs left my closet, mostly because they were getting worn out, and I was wanting straight leg styles rather than skinnies. So, I ended up with two pairs of DL1961 Coco jeans and a pair of AG Harpers. One pair of Cocos still has tags on, but the other two pairs have already gone into rotation. (See Finds)

Also in the Finds -- I bit the bullet and bought this pair of Frye combat boots I have been eyeing for a while. My old Ugg moto boots are starting to look scruffy and these are a good update. It's the end of the wearing season, but they are such a classic/rocker look that I know I'll wear them happily this fall and for years after.

I also bought several items at Anthro when I found some good things for upcoming warmer weather:

1. Lightweight cream sweater - already worn -- good for layering in cooler weather and alone in more moderate temps

2. Black vest/top - still has tags on but I expect this to get wear as the weather warms up. Works nicely as a top or vest, washable, comfortable, flattering and versatile. Should be good even in warm weather since it is a knit.

3. "Wanderer" shorts -- still has tags on since it's not the season yet, but comfortable, neutral, easy, casual, and the right amount of roomy. Will be summer workhorses since some of my old shorts got culled.

4. Cupro tank in navy blue - again, tags still on but I expect this to be a workhorse -- good color, breezy and comfortable casual basic, with just a little twist in the simple cut.

I also bought the dress in the Finds -- the Tommy Bahama blue print midi/maxi. It's a good summer/beach dress -- very comfortable and casual, with a great hemline and neckline for me. The print is not too over-the-top either, so it works for me. Great with flat sandals or sneakers. I'm having the shoulders taken up a bit as I so often have to do because the top is just a bit long on my body.

So, yeah, I definitely way exceeded my limit this month, but the jeans were a really easy choice once I found the right washes, and shorts are hard for me, so those were a no-brainer too. Nothing terribly wild-card here, and it's clear that I'm not finding much in the way of COLOR this season (LOL), but these should be useful pieces.
