Well, I had a bit of time to have a better look today, and I'd say that they were mostly 1.5-2.5" - lots of 4" as well, but I only ever look lovingly at them - I never touch/try/buy them LOL

I wonder if we here in Aus, are starting to get on top of trends a little earlier now that things like Fashion Week shows are all online and info disbursed so much quicker than in the past? Stringy my little town is pretty slow too, so its kind of surprised me!

It's almost like our A/W shoes are similar to what you guys are just seeing now, as far as heel heights go...

There were LOADS of shoes I could have easily bought today LOL

I went shoe shopping today and came home with nothing, but I only made it to 2 stores. The heels were 4-5 inches and allot of spike heels and some very high wedge sandals. Hope it gets better. I love a 1-2 inch heel.

Did I see lower heels at the start of winter, not really but it appears lower heels are coming into stores now which I like for spring/summer. So perhaps shorter heels will carry over into the next fall/winter for us.

I've even spotted a low-heeled slingback all the way over here in Perth, and we're usually the last people in the world to get a trend. I am absolutely stocking up while they're in fashion, whether it lasts for a few seasons or just one.

For this winter, there were a lot of flat tall boots. There were also booties with 2-3" solid chunky heels. I purchase 2 pair this winter that I love, one from Dr. Scholl and the other from Miss Sixty.

So where I felt there were still a lot of shoes I looked at with 4" heels, I found there were ENOUGH selections in the mid and lower heel heights.

For Spring Summer 2011, I'm still seeing a lot of high high heels, but with adequate selection of 3" and lower heels.

Unfortunately, I do not see very many low-heeled shoes that are stylish and fab enough to grace the feet of any of the ladies here... I hope that the trend will come strongly to Canada though, we can't all teeter on 5" needles!

I caught up with a friend for coffee this morning, and the cafe we sat at was right near a shoe shop - how great a morning was that LOL

Anyway, I noticed with GREAT pleasure that there were LOTS of shoes with a heel that was probably 2", coming in for Autumn/Winter - mostly closed toe heels, or sling backs from what I saw. I noticed it at another shoe store as we were leaving the shops too.

So it seems the lower heel trend is certainly going to be strong here - and I am so super duper excited I can't wait for next weeks medical expenses to be out of the way so I can go shoe shopping LOL

I'm curious though, are you northern hemisphere gals seeing lower heeled shoes, and if you saw them at the start of your winter, are they still around?

I'm trying to work out how many pairs I should buy - if this fabulous trend is disappearing soon I may have to stock up LOL

Hmmm and whilst I was typing this I got an email with the announcement that new season shoes are arriving at one of my favourite shoe stores this weekend LOL Is it a sign?????
